Let’s face it, writing articles is all well and good but most people (including us) just don’t want to sit down and read article after article to gain an edge. Sure, if you’re going to school to become a doctor you won’t have a choice but to hit the books and educate yourself.

Fortunately having success in fantasy football doesn’t take lots of thinking and studying to win regularly. All it takes is a little basic knowledge and staying informed on current events that can change your opinion of players fantasy value.

This is why the guys from fantasy football information have started a new audio chapter to the website, and it’s called fantasy philosophers. Here you can find our recent thoughts and quick ramblings on current events for fantasy football in an audio format.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Point Per Reception (PPR) League Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet Draft Board
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Point Per Reception (PPR) league fantasy football snake draft(s). In these leagues it is always good to keep an eye out for players that tend to rack up the receptions because of the added value they bring.

Young players like Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker had a good 2009 but might have an even better 2010. Look for options like Walker as up and coming players to keep an eye on for increased productivity.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Standard League Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet Snake Draft Board
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Standard Snake league fantasy football snake draft(s). In Standard snake drafts it is always run heavy in the first couple rounds of the draft.

Getting good young talents like Rashard Mendenhall are important for your team to have success as top players need to give you production every week. Once the cream of the crop is gone in the first few rounds it will be very difficult to recover if you’ve not grabbed at least one proven talent at this position.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Touchdown Only League Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet Draft Board
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Touchdown Only league fantasy football draft(s). In Touchdown Only leagues you obviously only have one area to concern yourself with and that is getting the football across the white stripe.

Players can fluctuate in this area as we saw Vernon Davis tie the single season touchdown record for a tight end last season. Before that Davis was a horrible bust for years and it just goes to show you a player can get it going at any time.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Auction League Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet Draft Board
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Auction league fantasy football draft(s). In an Auction league you have the opportunity to draft just about any player you like.

The hard part is deciding just how much your willing to spend on a great player for your team and still have a good overall team to win throughout the season. Use our cheat sheet draft board above to help you get a general understanding of the auction values of different players for 2010.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 NFL Dynasty – Keeper League Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet Draft Board
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Dynasty – Keeper league fantasy football draft(s). Before your draft begins you will have to decide which players you will keep and which one’s to release.

Use the cheat sheet above to get an idea of which players we have ranked out as the top to hold onto at each position for dynasty – keeper leagues. This is also a useful tool for draft day as you can keep an eye on which players are good for depth.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Running Backs (RB) Dynasty – Keeper Fantasy Football League Cheat Sheet
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Dynasty – Keeper league fantasy football draft(s). Many keeper leagues allow you to hold onto two running backs from the year before.

For some teams this means letting go of a really good runner or two as your depth chart was filled with talented players. Some young talents like the Colts Donald Brown are probably not worth holding onto in these leagues but at some point he should be a solid fantasy option.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Wide Receivers (WR) Dynasty – Keeper League Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Dynasty – Keeper league fantasy football draft(s). Most leagues you get to keep two or three wide receivers for your team.

Keep young projected studs like Hakeem Nicks is important but if they fail to grow and you release good veterans it can hurt your fantasy squad. Make sure you feel confident about holding a young player over a proven veteran before cuts come in your league.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Quarterback (QB) Dynasty – Keeper Fantasy Football League Cheat Sheet
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Dynasty – Keeper league fantasy football draft(s). Usually a fantasy owner gets to hold onto one quarterback each season and hopefully you have a good one.

If you’re looking for an up start quarterback that could be available at your keeper draft look no further than the Eagles new starting quarterback Kevin Kolb. With a great group of players around him and a pass heavy west coast system to throw in, Kolb should have success for years to come.

Date June 28th, 2010: 2010 Tight Ends (TE) Dynasty Keeper Fantasy Football League Cheat Sheet
Another year is upon us, and it’s time to get your information ready for your 2010 Dynasty – Keeper league fantasy football draft(s). For the tight end position some keeper leagues allow you to hold onto one player and others don’t have a specific tight end position.

Date June 24th, 2010: Draft Board Update, Part One | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
Welcome to our first update to our 2010 NFL fantasy football player rankings draft board. Throughout the summer, we will be updating you on information that has changed since we wrote our close to three hundred player rankings early this summer. Since fantasy players go through injuries and varying degrees of productivity, values can change and fantasy owners need to know the current information.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Larry Johnson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Johnson signed with the Redskins, and he is now projected to be the teams starting running back. With Clinton Portis a shell of his former self due to injury the Redskins are running Johnson with the first team and giving him goal line work.

There has been talk that the team may sign Brian Westbrook but the veteran would be the teams third down runner as his concussion issues wouldn’t allow him to start. This makes Johnson the best fantasy option on the Redskins, and he could be a decent player to have on your squad.

You should be able to pick up Johnson at a very reasonable price at your draft, and he might be worth the occasional start this season as he’s with a decent offense.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Derrick Ward | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: While we thought Ward would see more work in 2009 it looks like he should see more in a committee this year. So far, in camp Williams is still projected to be the Buccaneers starter as he played all sixteen games last season. Ward will be his backup once again, but he should see around 150 carries this up coming year.

For the 2010 fantasy football season Ward’s impact will be felt most in taking away key carries from Williams more than his own value. Don’t select Ward on draft day as the Buccaneers aren’t a winning team and will play from behind most of the year.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Mike Bell | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Bell moved onto the Eagles this offseason and will be used as the backup to LeSean McCoy. It looks like McCoy should see the bulk of the workload in this offense but Bell does stand to take away goal line carries from McCoy. Last season Bell did a decent job when called upon as he posted five rushing touchdowns for the season.

Don’t look to Bell as an option for your fantasy squad this season as McCoy is running much better this offseason and the Eagles have the hardest schedule to run against on paper.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Jonathan Dwyer | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Dwyer had much to learn coming into OTA’s this offseason has he would have to learn the, I formation as he ran a different style in college. As we are in late June now it looks like Dwyer is picking up the offense well and could unseat Mewelde Moore as the No.2 runner in this offense.

Dwyer is also in a battle to win the Steelers short yardage carries as it is an open competition for those touches. In the end, as long as Dwyer continues to progress, I expect him to be Mendenhall’s backup at some point this year. For a team that is projected to be run heavy this season, Dwyer could see some decent work in the offense.

If Mendenhall should go down for any length of time, Dwyer would be a hot name on the waiver wire this season.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Chester Taylor | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Taylor left the Vikings and choose the Bears as his new destination. Once again, Taylor will be a backup for a young running back as Matt Forte will see the main work in the offense. Since the Bears will be a pass heavy group this season Taylor may see less than 100 carries.

Where Taylor should still see a good amount of work is in his reception total as he will probably post over 50 this season. If Forte should continue to have health issues this season, Taylor would make for a nice flex play option if given a chance to start.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Donald Brown | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Brown has shown a notable improvement in his comprehension of the Colts’ offense this offseason and it should payoff in more work this year. I expect the Colts to use Brown more this year as he should be ready to take over the starting job in 2011.

Addai is in his final year of his contract and the Colts are fully expected to let him walk this coming offseason. Because of this the team needs to see Brown take some big strides this year and it looks like he’s ready to do just that. Because Addai has had health issues throughout his career Brown makes for a decent stash away player in deep leagues.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Clinton Portis | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Redskins have brought in a few veteran names this offseason and it looks like Larry Johnson will be the teams starter. Portis for now is penciled in as the third down back but that could change if the team signs Brian Westbrook.

If that happens the team may release Portis before the season begins as he wouldn’t be worth the money, they are paying him. Don’t select Portis on draft day as it looks like he will need to have others sustain injuries before he gets a decent option again.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Leon Washington | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Jets were concerned that Washington wouldn’t return the same player post injury, and they traded him to the Seahawks. Coach Pete Carroll as since admitted it will be awhile before he knows if Washington will have his explosion back or not in June.

At one time it was thought Washington would start training camp on the PUP list but in June his is working out, and he may be ready to practice in camp. While this is a good sign in his recovery, he still has a ways to go before he is at full strength. With his physical concerns, he really isn’t in a position to threaten Justin Forsett and Julius Jones in the running rotation.

It would be a victory just to see Washington get back to playing in a special teams’ role and getting occasional work on offense for the 2010 season.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Joe McKnight | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson on the depth chart McKnight is nothing more than the Jets No.3 running back. This season they are talking about using him in special teams and in the slot as a receiver.

For the year McKnight should be make a couple plays for his team but will be a quite name on the waiver wire for fantasy, unless some injury befalls players in front of him. In the future McKnight should take over Tomlinson’s job in the Jets’ offense.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Kevin Smith | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Lions needed themselves a new running back this year, and they acquired just that in the first round of the draft by selecting Jahvid Best. With Smith in no position to be the teams’ starter it will be Best that should enjoy the feature role with this team.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Sammy Morris | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The reason Morris makes our player rankings this season is because he will take away valuable touches from Fred Taylor and Maroney. Morris is nothing more than a helpful player to his team and a pain in the butt to fantasy owners with other Patriot running backs.

In the end, this is the type of typical situation that makes veteran fantasy owners stay away from this teams running game for the past few seasons. Don’t take Morris on draft day and only take Maroney and Taylor as cheep options on your squad.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Fred Taylor | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings:It looks like the Patriots will have Taylor, Maroney and Sammy Morris for another season as all three are in the final year of their contracts. Because of Maroney’s fumbling issues a year ago I wouldn’t be surprised if it is Taylor that ends up starting week one.

Taylor is a well polished running back over his career, and he’s the type of reliable player Coach Belichick wants in his backfield. Until a runner or two in this committee goes down with an injury no runner on this team makes for a good starter. Assuming Taylor wins the starting job he would make for a selection pick in the final rounds of your draft in deep leagues.

In the end, I wouldn’t be surprised if Taylor ends up getting hurt, and it is Maroney that surfaces once again to be the top man in the backfield.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Julius Jones | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings:If Jones wins the starting job this season it will be because he’s the veteran on the team. Forsett is clearly the more explosive runner and should be starting over the aging veteran. Still, Jones does the little things that coaches like and that is why he may continue to get the first looks.

This offseason Jones and Forsett are in an open competition for the starting job. Look for Jones to play a role in this offense but his days as a fantasy relevant player are years behind him. Even if he does win the starting job, I highly recommend you not select him on draft day. One thing Jones does seem to do every year is play well in September but at that time of the year you should have better options available.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Jason Snelling | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look to Snelling as Turner’s hand cuff to have this season as Norwood has proven to have continued health issues. If Turner should go down at any point it will be Sneelling that gets the bulk of the work on the ground.

In Snelling, you know he can score and carry the football twenty plus times in a game. We watched this running back do just that when Turner was down a year ago. If you select Turner this season it would be a good idea to stash Snelling as a backup late in the draft. It’s bad enough if your stud goes down but even worse watching his backup succeed another owners roster.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Steve Slaton | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Slaton had a surgery to help with the nerve damage, and he won’t partake in contact drills until camp. For this season Slaton will be the Texans third down back as he won’t be conditioned to take on a full load with his neck issue.

Look for Arian Foster as the top fantasy option on this team and then Ben Tate to be his backup. Slaton will be in the mix, but he won’t be a fantasy factor until late in the season at best. Hopefully, Slaton can bounce back from this health issue and get his career back on track in 2011.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Darren Sproles | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: At one point this offseason it looked like the Chargers offense might lose LaDainian Tomlinson and Sproles in free agency. The team did let Tomlinson go, but they kept Sproles around to be the backup once again. This year San Diego has a new starting tailback in rookie Ryan Mathews.

Mathews will see the bulk of the workload on the ground but Sproles should see a hefty amount the third down work this season. Don’t look to Sproles as a draft pick this season, unless you believe he’s worth holding if Mathews gets hurt.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Toby Gerhart | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gerhart was a great move for the Vikings as they were in need of a runner that could be productive if Peterson sustained an injury. Unfortunately, I thought Gerhart could have more fantasy relevance in the NFL than what he does now, but as it stands, he is just a backup for a star runner.

I could see Gerhart as a possible threat to take away some touchdowns from Peterson because of his size and success in that area at Standford. Beyond that it will take an injury from Peterson before Gerhart is worth more than a hand cuff option for fantasy owners.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Tim Hightower | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It looks like Hightower is primed to remain the Cardinals starting tail back over Wells. Hightower isn’t the better running back but the coaching staff seems to like him as a consistent worker in the offense. This is a very unfortunate situation for Wells as he looks ready to make a big impact on the league in his second year.

Not only will Hightower take away valuable touches from the former first round pick, but he should take touchdowns from him as well. Hightower has averaged nine rushing touchdowns in his first two season and has proven to be productive at the goal line. Wells has also had success in this area but at times the Cardinals will keep Hightower in.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Tashard Choice | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: There was talk early in the offseason that Choice could be traded to the Chargers for Antonio Cromartie but that was quickly shot down. The Cowboys just didn’t seem to want to part with a talented runner for a suspect corner back that would cost them good money.

As it stands Choice will entire his third season in the NFL as the No.3 running back on his team. Choice could start in the NFL and is certainly talented enough to be a key backup in a RBBC. Because the Cowboys are invested in Barber and Jones it looks like Choice will have to wait another year before he takes on more touches in this offense.

Fantasy owners still need to pay attention to Choice because Jones and Barber have had a hard time staying healthy for the past two seasons. This is why Choice has found the field each of the past two years, and he should see time again at some point.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB Ahmad Bradshaw | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Bradshaw had to have surgery on his ankle and both feet this offseason but late in June, he was running with the team in OTA’s. If it wasn’t for Bradshaw’s durability issues, he might have been able to unseat Jacobs this season if the big running back started out slow.

Instead the Giants will probably have to lean on Jacobs like it or not for another season as Bradshaw just doesn’t seem to stay healthy enough to take a full load. Still, Bradshaw will cut into Jacobs overall production and could provide a spark for your team if Jacobs goes down for any time.

Date June 21st, 2010: RB LaDainian Tomlinson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Tomlinson had to make a choice if he was going to the Jets or the Vikings this offseason and in the end, he chose New York. There is a reason why Tomlinson is in a backup role with the Jets and that is because he’s not good enough to start in the NFL.

This season Tomlinson is going to be the third down back behind Shonn Greene, and he is projected to get around the same amount of carries that Leon Washington had in this offense. If that holds true than Tomlinson would probably see less than 100 carries on the season.

Because Tomlinson isn’t running the football as much this season I wouldn’t be surprised if his yard per carry average went back over 4, but he won’t be explosive like Washington was. Don’t by into Tomlinson being a viable threat to slow down Greene’s fantasy production this season as the Jets tend to use one running back for most of the work.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Nate Burleson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Lions needed a respectable receiver to play opposite Calvin Johnson to help take coverage off their star. Burleson signed with the team early in free agency and now the Lions have their man.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Chris Chambers | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Chiefs did the right thing in bringing Chambers back to the team this season. For all the young talent, they have it is important to have some proven veterans around to balance things out.

Chambers won’t be worth your attention on draft day but he will probably put up another surge at some point throughout the season. If Bowe should have continued issues off the field and face another suspension, then Chambers would be a decent waiver wire option.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Dexter McCluster | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Chiefs are going to use McCluster as the teams’ slot receiver and that is a good idea for the talent he has. This explosive player will make some big plays for the Chiefs this season, but in the future I’m not sure he will be fantasy relevant.

With Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers on the team as well it will take at least a couple of seasons for McCluster to get enough touches to use on in a league. Still, McCluster should be a fun player to watch and some people will roll the dice on him when he has a good week.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Jerricho Cotchery | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The past two offseason’s haven’t been kind to Cotchery has this time around the team traded for Santonio Holmes. With Braylon Edwards and Holmes on the team Cotchery is expected to be the teams’ slot receiver when Holmes returns from his four game suspension.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Darrius Heyward-Bey | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Heyward-Bey was expected to take a couple of seasons of development coming out of the draft, and it looks like that will be the case. Obviously, he wasn’t ready to produce for the Raiders in 2009 even though they continued to start him.

This offseason I was hopeful that Heyward-Bey would show strong signs of improvement on the field, and so far he has in OTA’s. Jason Campbell is reportedly looking to him a lot in practice as they try and build chemistry together. I wish Heyward-Bey the best because if he is a true bust than he will be a laughing stock if Crabtree has a great career.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Louis Murphy | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I will never disagree with Chaz Schilens being one of the Raiders starting receivers but Heyward- Bey, I’m not so sure about. To Heyward-Bey’s credit, he has been much improved in OTA’s and new quarterback Jason Campbell is working with him a lot.

At the end of the day Heyward-Bey will have to perform much better on the field to stay a starter over Murphy as he will be waiting in the wings.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Malcom Floyd | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For the size Floyd has (6’5) you would think he could total more than one touchdown as a starter. If Floyd continues to play like this, I have to feel that someone like Legedu Naanee will challenge him for the starting job.

Floyd will be a clear starter for the Chargers and Vincent Jackson could face a suspension early in the year so Philip Rivers may look his way often. This would be good to see as Floyd has to step his game up before fantasy owners can keep him on their rosters.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Legedu Naanee | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: At one point, I held out hope that Naanee could be a productive player for the Chargers and for fantasy but that hasn’t happened yet. This offseason Naanee is recovering from foot surgery but should be fine by the time training camp starters.

With Vincent Jackson entrenched in a hold out things would have to last into the season for Naanee to be a starter for the Chargers. Other than that he will have to beat out Floyd for a job or hope for an injury. It’s hard to show what you can do when you’re not on the field enough to get a chance.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Lance Moore | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Moore will be with the Saints this season, but it isn’t likely that he will see enough targets to be close to a bench player for your team. That said, Robert Meachem and Devery Henderson are both coming off surgery this offseason and if they fail to recover well Moore will get lots of work.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Devery Henderson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Henderson isn’t worth a draft day selection at this time but if Robert Meachem should have continued problems in his recovery from toe surgery it would help his value. Meachem was expected to unseat Henderson from the starting job this year after he made strides last season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Austin Collie | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all the success Collie enjoyed last season he will probably see a drop in production this season. Gonzalez is working his way back from his knee injury, and if he’s in good shape, Collie should be the Colts No.4 receiver.

Staying healthy has been a big problem for Gonzalez over the past year as even in June, he had a hamstring injury that is going to hold him out until training camp. If Gonzalez is at full strength coming into your draft Collie is a late round flair at best. If Gonzalez stays on the field for the entire season, Collie will probably be dropped by many fantasy owners by the end of the first month of the season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Pierre Garcon | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It looks like the Colts are going to keep Garcon as the No.2 starter opposite Reggie Wayne. This is mainly because of Garcon’s big play ability and that is something Gonzalez and Collie can’t deliver.

With the success Garcon enjoy in the post season and a full offseason to work with Peyton Manning, I expect his touchdown total to move up. Look for Garcon to post around 900 yards receiving and eight touchdowns in his second season as the Colts’ starter.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Anthony Gonzalez | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gonzalez was all set to push for at least the No.3 job this year until he received an injury in June. Early reports had Gonzalez with another setback to his knee and would be out with no timetable for a return. Then we learned that his injury was a hamstring, and he would be a full go by the time training camp started in late July.

I’m happy for Gonzalez that this situation wasn’t another knee problem as he is a good player and that would have been devastating.

Date June 17th, 2010: RB Johnny Knox | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all the talk about Devin Aromashodu being a fantasy sleeper this offseason it is Knox that is running with the first team in front of him. Devin Hester looks to be entrenched as the teams other starter so it will be a battle between Knox and Aromashodu all summer.

While Knox was productive last year it would seem more likely that the Bears would use him in the slot and return game. In the end, Coach Mike Martz is going to use all his receivers, but it will be the starters that have fantasy relevance.

If Knox wins the job than he will be worth owning as a late round pick on draft day.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Devin Hester | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: At first I thought the Bears were going to use Hester as a slot man and have him focus more on his return game again. As OTA’s moved deeper it is becoming clearer to see that the Bears still envision Hester as one of their starting receivers.

At this time, it looks like Hester is slated to be a clear starter as Mike Martz has “big plans” for this talented player. I’m still very skeptical that Hester can truly deliver for a full season for fantasy owners, but I can’t ignore his opportunity. Players need a chances to get the football to be effective, and it seems like Hester will receive just that again in 2010.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Earl Bennett | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I would have thought that Bennett could build on his stats from last year but a knee surgery has dropped him to No.4 on the receiving depth chart. It looks like the Bears are going to use Devin Hester, Johnny Knox and Devin Aromashodu in front of Bennett this season.

Bennett will see the field, but he will be more of a nice depth player for Cutler’s value than a fantasy option to start the season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Kevin Ogletree | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Early in the offseason Ogletree was a much talked about player that could unseat Roy Williams for the starting job. This was washed away when Dez Bryant was drafted, and now he is the clear favorite to take over.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Roy E. Williams | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Williams has been a horrible failure in Dallas as he continues to make excuses for his lack of production. The Cowboys probably wouldn’t of had Williams on the team this year if it wasn’t for the ten plus million they will have to pay him.

During OTA’s Williams is still slated as the teams starting receiver opposite Austin, but I don’t believe he will stay there long. Rookie Dez Bryant is a superior player in skill and overall ability, and he’s having a very good OTA with the team.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Brian Robiskie | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Anytime a rookie with expectations has a bad first year I look to see if they’re make any positive progressions come OTA’s. For Robiskie, we can say that the Browns’ coaching staff is pleased with his camp so far, and he looks more prepared.

This makes sense as it can take a receiver a few years to figure out what it takes to be a productive NFL player. Still, Robiskie isn’t an option for fantasy football as the Browns have a bad situation at quarterback and Robiskie has much to learn.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Joshua Cribbs | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all of Cribbs talent and explosion he is really only relevant in return yardage fantasy leagues. He just doesn’t get enough receptions or carries to be valuable enough without production from his great return numbers.

If you’re in a return yardage league than Cribbs has obvious value but if not you should stay away from Cribbs.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Donte Stallworth | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Stallworth has another opportunity to save his career and his role with the Ravens will be important to their overall success. Derrick Mason and Anquan Boldin are good receivers and will start but neither has good pure speed.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Mark Clayton | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Ravens knew it was time to give up on Clayton being the hopeful main target in this offense, and they went out and traded for Anquan Boldin. While Clayton is still on the team he’s slated to be the N0.4 receiver behind Donte Stallworth.

This marks the end for Clayton as much of anything for fantasy football as he will need to find another opportunities with a new team before he will have any sparkle of hope again.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Derrick Mason | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Mason has enjoyed solid production because of Mark Clayton has been a bust since coming out of Oklahoma. Now, the Ravens have a true No.1 receiver in Anquan Boldin and Mason stands to see a drop in his overall numbers.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Davone Bess | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Bess is entrenched as the Dolphins’ slot man for this season, and he should still rack up a decent total of catches. With Brandon Marshall on the team, all the momentum Bess had coming into his third year has been washed away.

If it wasn’t for Marshall, Bess would have made for a good option in the later part of PPR league drafts, but now he is probably only a waiver wire pickup. Bess needs to show he can stay active on a weekly basis and that will depend on quarterback Chad Henne’s development.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Greg Camarillo | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The addition of Brandon Marshall has probably but any fantasy relevance from Camarillo to a wash. With Marshall on the team, he will be the main possession receiver for the Dolphins. Camarillo is now fighting for a starting job with Brian Hartline to be the teams No.2 receiver.

If Camarillo should lose this battle, he will be the Dolphins No.4 receiver as Davone Bess is entrenched as the teams slot man.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Justin Gage | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Nate Washington is already projected to keep his starting job in the Titans’ offense and that means Gage will battle with Britt for the other job. Expect Britt to win this job as he has more talent and performed better than the veteran in his rookie season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Nate Washington | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Washington is already projected to be one of the starting receivers for the Titans this year as Justin Gage and Kenny Britt will battle for the other spot. Unless Britt has a setback, I fully expect him to win the job, and eventually he will be the teams top receiver to have for fantasy.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Dwayne Jarrett | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Jarrett is slated as being the teams starting receiver now that Muhammed has retired from football. Some talk has floated around that Jarrett is on the bubble and may be cut by the end of August. The main thinking for this is because the team added three receivers this offseason and rookies Brandon LaFell and Armantie Edwards have been impressive.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Brandon LaFell | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: LaFell is expected to push veteran Dwayne Jarrett for the No.2 starting job opposite Steve Smith. Like Jarrett, LaFell is a good sized receiver standing in at 6’3 and 209 pounds. Watching LaFell I always liked his route running ability, and he seemed to be able to make nice receptions with defenders draped around him.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Armanti Edwards | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Edwards probably won’t make a big impact in his rookie season, but he may have himself a successful career. So far, in camp he is wowing his coaches with his explosive ability on the field and how well he’s already picking up the receiver position.

Many quarterbacks that transition to receiver tend to have a good idea of what is going on in the game and how to find holes in the defense. For Edwards, it will probably take him until his second or third year before he truly ready to threaten for a starting job, but he should be good progress this year.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Mike Williams (Buccaneers) | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all the other receivers that were drafted before Williams it could be these very pass catcher that has the best rookie season. I do believe Dez Bryant is primed for very good things but don’t over look this highly talented young receiver.

So far, in camp Williams has had success and will be a starting receiver for the Buccaneers when it’s all said and done to begin the year. Between Williams and fellow rookie Arrelious Benn, it is Williams that is the vertical threat for this offense, and he may be out to prove a few things this season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Arrelious Benn | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s Benn injured his ankle, and we can only hope this isn’t a recurring trend from his problems last season. At this time, he is fully expected to be the teams starting receiver and probably the No.1 option at receiver if he’s healthy.

The Buccaneers have the easiest schedule to pass against this season so Benn should have opportunities to be a fantasy factor in his rookie season. If Benn is having a solid preseason this year you might want to roll the dice on him in the later rounds of the draft. Don’t forget about Williams though as he will also have a chance to start and has good talent.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Mike Thomas | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Jaguars’ offense is desperate for someone to step up and play quality football opposite Mike Sims-Walker in the passing game. David Garrard’s starting career could be on the line this season, and it will be important for this offense to play well.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Golden Tate | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: You can line Tate up all over the field, and he still finds a way to be productive. In the passing game, as a running back or even in special teams he just has a way to read the field and make defenders miss.

This elusiveness will prove to be valuable to the Seahawks as they may make him the No.2 receiver opposite T.J. Houshmandzadeh come week one. Tate may not be selected in different fantasy leagues because the Seahawks haven’t had much success on offense the past few years.

Still, keep an eye on Tate as I believe he will be productive for fantasy owners in his rookie season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Jacoby Jones | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Jones was a project player coming out of college and was an instant impact player in special teams. Now in his fourth year, Jones looks ready to take the No.2 starting position away from Kevin Walter.

Coach Gary Kubiak has continued to praise his young talented pass catcher for his maturity and dedication to getting better at the position. When you factor in that the Texans have given his old kick and punt return job to another player it is even more convincing that Jones will play a big role in the passing game.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Kevin Walter | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Before March, it looked like Jacoby Jones was clearly ready to take over the teams No.2 spot as Walter was a free agent. In an odd twist of events the Texans actually resigned Walter for eight million this year and now have the two receivers competing for the starting job.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Malcolm Kelly | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Kelly’s career may have been saved with the addition of new Coach Mike Shanahan as he told Kelly they were going to make him a big part of the offense in February. Maybe this was just talk to motivate the third year receiver, but it is hope that something can be accomplished.

So far, in OTA’s all is quite in Kelly’s progression but with the addition of Donovan McNabb in April, fantasy owners have to believe someone will breakout on this team. Fellow third year receiver Devin Thomas is getting all the pub in fantasy circles that he will be the player that breaks out this season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Antonio Bryant | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In free agency Bryant signed with the Bengals and now has a solid veteran quarterback once again in Carson Palmer. With Cincinnati Bryant will be the teams No.2 option in the passing game after Chad Ochcocinco.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Mario Manningham | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: As long as Manningham is healthy coming into your draft, I still think he makes for a decent stash away player in deep leagues. The Giants have a good quarterback in Eli Manning and Manningham has proven to have success as a starter.

If something should happen to Smith or Nicks, Manningham would be a viable starter for your team as a starter in this offense. In only his third year in the league, Manningham still has a chance to have a bright future.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Donnie Avery | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If Avery is going to be a relevant option in fantasy football this season, he will need his offensive line to play at a respectable level. If the quarterback doesn’t have time to throw the football than Avery won’t have a chance to be a consistent producer.

As long as Avery can come into the season healthy I do believe he is worth stashing on your roster as added depth. Last year Avery started to show more maturity and this offseason he has come into camp in great shape. Look for Avery as a decent option to use for bye week help on your team.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Wes Welker | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Welker didn’t seem like he was going to be a very relevant name for fantasy in 2010 as he had a long road to recover from his surgery on his knee in February. While Welker still has much to prove in his rehab, he is back on the field in June.

This is almost amazing to see as his injury is nothing small and for a player like Welker, he relys on his cutting ability all the time. Putting stress on the knee’s is a constant for a receiver and Welker is one of the hardest working wide outs in all of football. It will be interesting to see when this stud player will be back on the team for 2010.

At this time, Welker is flying up our board as he may have a shot to return with the Patriots in the first month of the season. Don’t expect Welker to be a full strength, but he should be a help to your team and especially if you’re in a PPR league.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Julian Edelman | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For most of the spring Edelman has been a hot name in fantasy circles because many of us thought Welker wouldn’t be back until at least the final six games of the 2010 season. Welker didn’t even have surgery on his knee until February, and it usually takes awhile for a player to return from that problem.

In June Welker surprised everyone as he was back on the field and looking good as he worked out in drills. Just to see him making sharp cuts and moving around well is a big positive at this point. It is unknown when Welker will officially be ready to get back into regular season games but when he does it will greatly hurt Edelman.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Jabar Gaffney | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It looks like Gaffney is going to start opposite Eddie Royal, and maybe he can build on his success from last year. I have a hard time believing he can hold off talented rookie Demaryius Thomas all yearlong as he’s not held down a starting job for any long length of time.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Demaryius Thomas | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Thomas missed about the first month of OTA’s before he was healthy to start contributing on the field. The foot injury looks to be progressing well and Thomas should be ready to partake in full training camp with it opens up.

To begin the season the Broncos are projected to have Jabar Gaffney and Eddie Royal as the starters. Sooner or later Thomas should take over a starting job from one of these receivers as the team moves into the late part of the year. For now Thomas is an irrelevant option to select on draft day but he might have value by the end of the season.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Josh Morgan | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I will be interested to see how Morgan plays in his third year in the NFL but for fantasy, he won’t be draft worthy. The 49ers already have Vernon Davis and Crabtree in front of him on the pecking order and this passing game isn’t strong enough for three fantasy options.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR Jordy Nelson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The door may have opened for Nelson this offseason as Donald Driver (35 years old) had surgery on both this knees. At his old age, Driver may not bounce back and be able to play at a level that is worth having him start over James Jones and Nelson.

With Driver’s health concerns if Jones continues to have a high drop ball ratio the Packers may turn to Nelson as a starter as the season goes along. For draft day Nelson isn’t a selection worth going after because he will probably start the year as the teams No.3 receiver at best.

Date June 17th, 2010: WR James Jones | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: 2010 may be the year Jones has a breakout season as Donald Driver had surgery on both his knees. At age 35 it is likely that Driver will have a hard time recovering from his ailments, and it may lead to Jones taking a starting job.

If we get deeper into August, and it looks like Jones will be the teams’ starter his fantasy value will jump into the top thirty receivers for fantasy owners to draft. We will keep an eye on this situation all summer long.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Pierre Thomas | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Thomas has been in a back and forth with the Saints over a new contract. As of June the team has threatened to even reduce his pay if he doesn’t sign his tender by the middle of the month. In the end, some agreement will be worked out and Thomas should be playing for the Saints.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Brandon Jacobs | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Some fantasy analysts are basically giving Jacobs a pass for his performance last year but not me. The Giants still have the third hardest schedule to run against this year and Ahmad Bradshaw could continue to steal work from him if he is slow.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Michael Bush | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Early in the offseason Coach Cable was saying that he wanted a feature runner in this offense. In OTA’s it looked like Bush was primed to be that very player as he consistently saw first team touches over McFadden.

However, Coach Cable balked on his feature back talk by June and said he is more than happy using both McFadden and Bush in a 50/50 split. Thankfully, Fargas is gone from this messy situation so now fantasy owners only have to worry about two players to choose from on this team.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Darren McFadden | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Oakland Raiders as a team have had a very good offseason in picking up key players to improve this team overall. McFadden also received good news for his fantasy value when the team parted ways with Justin Fargas and now he only has to compete with Michael Bush.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Willis McGahee | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: As the season drew to a close for the Ravens it was originally expected that the team wouldn’t pick up McGahee’s option for the final year of his contract. Because the Ravens are making a run for the Super Bowl (and McGahee’s production) they opted to keep the veteran around.

This move cleary hurt Rice’s fantasy value as if McGahee was gone, we would have to figure the young runner would be ready for a solid double digit touchdown season. Instead we have to expect that McGahee will continue to see opportunities at the goal line.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Reggie Bush | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Bush’s fantasy value is best held in leagues that allow points for players in the special teams’ area. With his added production in that spot, Bush is a more reliable player overall. For more traditional leagues, Bush makes for a runner worth having on your team but not someone you want to count on every week.

If his knee didn’t limit him, he would probably be a first round pick in many leagues because he would receive much more work regularly. Instead Bush is a backup player but still a game changer for his team. This is why the Saints pay him the money they do and why he will continue to be in the NFL as long as his knee allows.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Montario Hardesty | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s Hardesty has been one of the more talked about rookie’s around the NFL. Coach Eric Mangini has raved about Hardesty, and he has even split first team carries with Harrison.

Harrison was a huge name in fantasy for the final few weeks of the season has he posted a tremendous stat line. Still, he isn’t thought to be big enough to handle a feature role and this is why the team went after Hardesty as a more physical presence.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Matt Forte | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Maybe Forte would still be a top twenty fantasy back if it wasn’t for the fact that Chester Taylor signed with the team and the Bears have the second hardest schedule against the run. When you factor in that they play the Lions twice a year, and they have had major upgrades to stop the run his schedule is truly the hardest in football.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Justin Forsett | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Now that bone head is fired and Pete Carroll is the new coach of the team, at least he is giving Forsett an open competition to win the job. If this situation is truly open than expect Forsett to be the teams starting tail back come week one.

Forsett is clearly more explosive than Jones and that is self evident by his 5.4 yard per carry average last season. Even though Forsett is a little undersized he is very hard to get a hold of and does a good job at getting away from would be tacklers.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Jonathan Stewart | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It’s hard to hold back from drafting this ultra talent early on, even if he is a backup on the team. I’m sure other fantasy football websites will have Stewart ranked in the top twenty fantasy backs, but we are a little more conservative and have him in the top twenty five.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Marion Barber | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Barber looks like a different player as he has all but lost his starting job to Felix Jones. This offseason Barber dropped ten pounds and looks faster in practices. Expect Barber to remain the teams No.2 runner as I feel this is a better fit for him.

His best success came when Julius Jones was the teams’ starter, and he would come in when the defense was a little roughed up. Then Barber would use his physical abilities to beat down opponents and score a bunch of touchdowns.

Barber may not play as good in this role as he did years ago, but he is worth having on your fantasy roster. Early in the season he is probably a decent starter as a flex option against good matchups. Other than that he needs to prove he can stay healthy and be consistent in his new role on the team.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Thomas Jones | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all the success Jones has enjoyed over the past two seasons, he couldn’t find anything better than a backup role after the Jets let him go. By the start of the season Jones will be 32 years old and NFL teams didn’t seem to want to commit to a running back of that age to start.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB C.J. Spiller | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Spiller may have been the first runner off the board on draft day but he’s in a bad situation. Still, his talent makes him worth having on your fantasy team, and he has added value in PPR leagues for his receiving skills.

Early in the season the Bills are expected to give Spiller around 12 carries a game and use him a lot in the slot position for the passing game. Eventually, I expect the team to give Spiller more work as we head deeper into the season as they fall out of playoff contention.

At some point they need to give this kid some decent reps as a running back to let him figure things out at this level. Because of this he should have added value in the second half of the year. Spiller makes for a cheep flex play option this season as the Bills need to find some respectability on offense.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Arian Foster | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With Slaton still recovering from his neck problem the team is going to use him as the third down back. This leaves the starting job open to a two man competition between Foster and rookie second round pick Ben Tate.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Ben Tate | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Tate didn’t really get going in OTA’s until June because of a hamstring injury. With Steve Slaton recovering from a neck problem, he won’t be able to compete for the teams starting job this season. Knowing this, the starting job will come down to Arian Foster and Tate to see who wins.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Ricky Williams | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With hard work and a strong offensive line, Williams was able to pull off a nice season at his older age. When you look at Williams career, it isn’t as unbelievable to see him having success when he missed out on a few years because of off the field decisions.

Williams will play behind Brown as long as he is ready to go by week one but fantasy owners need to consider Williams as a nice player to have on their team. Both running backs had success in a committee early on and Brown has proven he can’t make it through a full season.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB LeSean McCoy | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason the Eagles parted ways with Westbrook and McCoy has been handed the starting job. Early in OTA’s McCoy wowed the coaches as he looked to be in better condition and more explosive.

This is good news for McCoy as he needs to continue his progression as the teams main ball carrier now that they’ve added Mike Bell in the mix.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Joseph Addai | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Addai is probably in his final year with the Colts as he will be a free agent next season. For a player that has a career yard per carry average lower than 4.0 this isn’t the guy you want to give a big contract to.

The Colts already have last years first round pick Donald Brown ready behind Addai, and I would expect him to see more touches in the offense. However, Addai is the bigger running back and has proven to get the job done in the red zone.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Laurence Maroney | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Who knows what the heck is going to happen once again in New England with their running game. Maroney, Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris are all heading into their final years of their contracts, and they will all probably be gone after 2010.

The Patriots have never been one of the more honest of teams about their strategy so it leaves fantasy owners in a defensive position when it comes to selecting these players.

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Fred Jackson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Jackson will probably start out the season as the Bills starting running back as they use C.J. Spiller in the slot. The Bills do still have Lynch as of June, and we will have to see if they keep the troubled runner by the seasons beginning.

For now Jackson is a stash away player at the very end of your fantasy draft at best as he will be in a running back committee on a bad offense. I like Jackson as a player because he gives his team everything and is a professional but in fantasy he’s just on the wrong team with average personal ability

Date June 14th, 2010: RB Cadillac Williams | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Williams won’t be the first running back off your draft board, but he will be selected in every fantasy football draft this year. The Buccaneers are still going to use Williams as their starting running back and that means he should get continued opportunities to produce fantasy points.

Last year I thought the Buccaneers were going to use a three headed monster in the ground game with Derrick Ward and Earnest Graham pitching in. For the season, the Buccaneers underused Ward and Graham was virtually nonexistent.

Date June 12th, 2010:
DL John Henderson Improves Oakland Raiders Team Defense
The Raiders defense was ready to make some noise even before this move as they have a respectable group. Still, they needed to pick up another proven player or two on the defensive line to become a solid fantasy option. With Henderson and Richard Seymour on the front line, this group has a chance to play very well in 2010.

Look for the Raiders as a nice No.2 defense for your fantasy team this up coming draft.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Percy Harvin | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If you’re in a fantasy football league that gives points for a receivers rushing totals than Harvin has a bump in fantasy value. The Vikings have discussed using Harvin more in the running game and with his success in the past it’s not hard to see why.

Harvin is the teams third receiver on the depth chart but don’t let that fool you as he is a perfect fit in the slot and will be used all the time. As long as Harvin can keep it together off the field and his migraine issue don’t cost him games, then he makes for a terrific flex play option / late No.2 receiver (twelve team leagues) in his second year.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Hakeem Nicks | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Early in our 2010 player rankings we had Nicks as a top thirty option for your fantasy squad but now as his toe injury looks to be ok in June, we have him up to No. 21 overall.

It’s clear to see by the talent and ability Nicks has that he is a fast up and coming receiver in the fantasy world. His game isn’t complete but it doesn’t have to be for this guy to reach around 1,000 yards and even ten touchdowns in 2010.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Dez Bryant | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: While Bryant fell out of the top ten picks on draft day, he did land in a great situation for himself. So far, this offseason he is blowing away coaches with his skill and ability, and they are trusting him with what is expected to be a major amount of work right away.

If Bryant isn’t starting opposite Miles Austin early in the season it won’t take him long as he is by far the better talent (and harder worker) then Roy E. Williams. Williams seems to have lost his motivation to be a good NFL player and this is self evident in his play and his excuse making.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Devin Aromashodu | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has been kind to Aromashodu so far as the Bears signed offensive coordinator Mike Martz to head the offense. Martz’s offense focuses is passing heavy and mainly focused on featuring the wide receivers. Beyond that good news, Martz and other coaches are hopeful that Aromashodu can take on a bigger workload this year and are pushing him hard.

In OTA’s Aromashodu was still behind Johnny Knox and Devin Hester in reps but that doesn’t mean they will be the starters come week one.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Chaz Schilens | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Schilens had another offseason foot surgery this spring, but as it stands in June, he is back in practice and looking just fine on the field. The opportunities are plentiful for this third year receiver as the Raiders are projected to start Darrius Heyward-Bey opposite him when the season begins.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Devin Thomas | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Thomas is one of those players that can look good one week and then disappoint you for a month. His progression since being selected in the second round three drafts ago has been up and down but for now he is projected to be the starter opposite Santana Moss.

With Donovan McNabb’s arrival and Moss’s expected suspension for HGH use, Thomas is getting a world of buzz in fantasy circles for being a sleeper in 2010. Traditionally, this is the situation you look for to have a player breakout and have a big year at a cheep price.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Mike Wallace | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The offseason has given Wallace good and bad as his quarterback is suspended for at least the first month, the team is going to run more but Santonio Holmes is gone. With Holmes’s departure Wallace is primed to be the teams’ starter opposite Hines Ward.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Robert Meachem | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Everything looked inline for Meachem to become a hot name this offseason for fantasy owners to select. Unfortunately Meachem has a bad toe injury and had to have surgery on it this spring. To his own admission Meachem has no idea when he will be able to practice because of the recovery process.

Projections have him coming back for training camp but fantasy owners need to pay close attention to his situation before they get ready to draft their team. If Meachem is back in practice and has recovered well than he should be inline to start opposite Marcus Colston.

If not, it will be a roll of the dice on draft day to keep Meachem on your team, and you will have to weigh the odds of when it would be right for you to select him.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Santana Moss | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has seen good and bad for the Redskins top target as the team landed Donovan McNabb but then Moss was failed a test for HGH use. At this time, it is assumed that Moss will be suspended to start the season but nothing is set in stone.

Moss is still a top thirty fantasy option at receiver on our draft board this season as he is the only proven producer in the receiving core at this point. Even with a suspension, if Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly waffle once again, Moss will continue to be the main target in down the field and that is what McNabb does best.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Hines Ward | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Ward may be 34 years old but don’t let his age fool you as he’s thrived off others doubting him his entire career. When you look back at Ward’s numbers over the years it’s amazing he doesn’t get more credit for what he’s done.

With the departure of Santonio Holmes from the team Ward is the clear top option in this offense once again. Even with Ben Roethlisberger missing at least four games this year Ward is worth having as a starter on your team to begin the season. The other quarterbacks that the Steelers have can get the football to Ward, and they will need him to be productive once again in 2010.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Jeremy Maclin | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Maclin will probably have a decent NFL career, but I still need to see more from the talented first rounder before I’m a big fan of his for fantasy football. With Jackson and Brent Celek already established targets on this team, Maclin needs to show he can beat one on one coverage on a consistent basis.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Donald Driver | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Driver is probably one of my favorite players in the NFL because of the situation he came from as a child and the heart and soul he plays with on the field. That said last season was probably the final year that Driver was worth using on fantasy rosters.

This offseason Driver had surgery on both his knee’s and at age 35 it’s not promising that he will be the teams starting receiver opposite Greg Jennings. If Driver can’t comeback and play at the level his coaches are accustomed to it could leave the door wide open for James Jones to unseat him in the starting role.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Kenny Britt | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Britt is still only twenty one years old and his immaturity has continued to show in his decisions off the field and on the practice field. Through it all he does have Coach Jeff Fisher in his corner even though the coach can dish out tough love.

In the end, Fisher knows what this kid can do, and I believe he wants him on the field like last season. Britt is still not ready for fantasy owners to entrust a starting role on their team, but he is worth stashing away on your roster at your draft.

As long as Britt continues to progress forwards this season, he should help you at different points for 2010 and will make for a stronger fantasy play in years after.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Braylon Edwards | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Looking at the Cleveland Browns situation this offseason it’s a really good thing Edwards left that town last season. Mark Sanchez is still young and maturing, but he is a much better option than Jake Delhomme or Seneca Wallace.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Steve Breaston | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Breaston is all geared up to take on a starting job opposite Larry Fitzgerald as the team traded away Anquan Boldin this offseason. The two knocks for Breaston are for one he doesn’t have Kurt Warner as his quarterback and the other is that he’s only averaged three touchdowns the past two seasons.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Santonio Holmes | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has been a bad one for Holmes as he was suspended four games by the league for substance abuse and then was traded to the Jets. Now, serving a four game suspension, Holmes has much to prove in his final year of his contract.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Holmes racks up a few nice games when he returns to the Jets after the first four weeks, but he probably won’t be consistent to be an every week play. If you’re in a fantasy league that uses three starters or more for receivers than Holmes might be a starting player in your league.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Mohamed Massaquoi | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Massaquoi would be a possible top 35 fantasy receiver if he had a decent quarterback throwing him the football. Instead Massaquoi will have to deal with Jake Delhomme as his QB, and he couldn’t even make Steve Smith a good fantasy starter last year in Carolina.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Eddie Royal | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even when Brandon Marshall was off the team week seventeen last year it was Jabar Gaffney that broke out for a big day against the Chiefs and not Royal. That game was key to understanding how underutilized Royal has become in Coach Josh McDaniels offense.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR Lee Evans | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If there is a passing game that is worse than the Cleveland Browns this year it has to be the Bills. I would grade the Browns a little higher because they have a much more respectable offensive line.

While Evans is a good talent he is stuck with a horrible supporting cast and that is why he is a clear bench player for your fantasy squad. With so much working against Evans it will be virtually impossible for him to be a reliable weekly option for you to count on.

Date June 11th, 2010: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Houshmandzadeh is still one of our top thirty fantasy receivers on our draft board this year, but it’s more for his production in the past. He is still the Seahawks No.1 receiver on paper but if he can’t start producing more touchdowns, John Carlson will be the best pass catcher on this team.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Dustin Keller | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even Coach Rex Ryan is riding the fantasy steal band wagon for Keller as he pubically noted he should produce much better. This is the kind of talk you want to hear from a coach as the Jets are noticeably opening things up more in practice this offseason.

Sanchez was solid in the post season as he instilled more confidence in his coaches that he is becoming ready to lead the team. With a better overall understanding for success in the NFL, Sanchez will see more pass opportunity this coming year.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Zach Miller | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has been positive for Miller’s fantasy football ranking as the team finally released JaMarcus Russell and now have a legit quarterback in Jason Campbell. On top of that good news, the Raiders have the fifth easiest schedule to pass against as they face the NFC West out of division this year.

Put it all together and Miller is a very nice fantasy sleeper for this up coming year, and you can have him at the end of your draft. Again, Miller’s value is best in PPR and heavy yardage leagues as he’s a solid possession pass catch but not a strong touchdown maker.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Fred Davis | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Unfortunately, for Davis Mike Shanahan decided to keep Cooley around, and it is expected that Davis will be the backup. While Davis will be on the field a good amount this season, he only worth a late round selection on draft day.

Still the Redskins will lean on both tight ends to produce as they don’t have a well proven receiving core for Donovan McNabb and Santana Moss will probably be suspended at some point for HGH use. This means Davis will continue to be used and that is exactly what this team should be doing with their two talented ends.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Heath Miller | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Many changes have taken place since the end of last season as Ben Roethlisberger is expected to miss at least the first four games of the year and Saintonio Homes is gone to the Jets. Even worse for Miller is that Pittsburgh is sold out to run the football once again, and they won’t be throwing as much as last year.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Rob Gronkowski | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s Gronkowski has lined up in the traditional tight end position as the Patriots are moving Hernandez around in the slot and using him as an H-back. This in all likelihood will be the area’s you see these two tight ends playing this year as it makes sense for the team to have them in these spots.

Hernandez is a more natural pass catcher and route runner, and he is capable of being moved around and doing different things. Gronkowski is a decent blocker with the ability to be a good pass catcher as well.

So far, in practice Gronkowski says that his back issues are all in the past, and he is feeling great. I’m still concerned about his ability to play a full season but early on he should be fine. At this time, Gronkowski isn’t worth selecting on draft day as we need to see if he can get enough consistent work in this offense.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Aaron Hernandez | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s Gronkowski is working in the more traditional spot for a tight end while Hernandez is practicing in the slot, H-back and even fullback. It looks like the Patriots are going to move Hernandez around in the offense to keep both players on the field as much as they can. This makes sense, and I have a feeling we might start seening more of this from different teams around the NFL.

For this season, I wouldn’t recommend you draft Hernandez, but it will be interesting to see how productive he and Gronkowski will be in this offense. If Hernandez starts making regular noise in this offense and maybe Gronkowski suffers an injury, Hernandez would make for a good waiver wire selection.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Ed Dickson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Dickson will probably be the teams starting tight end come 2011 if all goes well this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more two tight end packages from the Ravens’ offense as they have great depth in this position.

For 2010, Dickson will probably be known more for limiting Heap’s fantasy value than for his own contributions to the team.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Dennis Pitta | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Pitta and Dickson will see time on the field this year but Todd Heap should be the teams starting tight end. Talk has floated around that the Ravens will use more of a two tight end set at times. In certain games, I could see that happening but other times they will use their deep receiving core to beat opponents.

Pitta isn’t a fantasy relevant name this year, but he is a good route runner and has the type of hands that remind me of Dallas Clark. Eventually, Pitta will find the field on a regular basis, but he will probably have to wait until the team releases Heap.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Jermaine Gresham | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Just after the draft it was thought that the Bengals would ease Grasham into the offense slowly. Soon after the draft, however, Gresham impressed his coaching staff at rookie camps and the team noticed he was in better shape to make an impact this year than they originally thought.

The Bengals don’t have a strong history of using their tight end in the passing game with regularity, but they didn’t get Gresham in the first round for nothing. This was a passing offense that struggled without weapons beyond Chad Ochocinco, and it caused this group to be very predictable come seasons end.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Todd Heap | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Heap is getting close to the end of his six year contract, he signed with the Ravens in 2005. With this in mind it’s no wonder why the Ravens selected two productive pass catchers out of college in Ed Dickson (Oregon) and Dennis Pitta (BYU) at the draft.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Tony Scheffler | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Thankfully, Scheffler got out of a bad situation with the Broncos and moved on to the Lions where he should have a decent season. The Lions are projected to keep Scheffler and fellow tight end Brandon Pettigrew on the field together.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Dante Rosario | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Delhomme is gone and Matt Moore is primed to be the teams starting quarterback this season. With Moore and the second easiest schedule to throw against in the NFL, I expect a player or two to become fantasy relevant outside of Steve Smith in this passing game.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Greg Olsen | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: You wouldn’t think an aggressive, pass heavy offensive coordinator would mean horrible things for Olsen’s fantasy value but that is exactly the case for 2010. Coordinator Mike Martz came to town in January after the Bears fired just about every coach outside of Lovie Smith.

Martz and Smith coached together for years with the St. Louis Rams when they enjoyed much success. While Martz’s offense is a clear pass first system, the tight end traditionally isn’t used all that much. Just a couple of years ago fantasy writers were pumping up Vernon Davis because he had Martz as his offensive coordinator.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Kevin Boss | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Boss had ankle surgery this offseason but should be a full go by the time training camp begins. While Boss isn’t one of Eli Manning’s top targets in the passing game, he does keep him involved most weeks, and he is a decent target in the red zone.

Coming into your fantasy draft Boss isn’t worth much for drafting as he would make for a backup on your team at best. Still, look forward to Boss as a nice waiver wire pickup for a bye week pinch as he has a good quarterback and can be productive.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Jeremy Shockey | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Shockey isn’t worth anything more than a backup on your fantasy roster at this point in his career. Beyond his physical breakdown, he also suffered an apparent seizure this offseason and had to spend some time in the hospital for that.

Hopefully, he won’t have another seizure as if he did it (speculation) might set him back as it is an obvious concern. At this time Shockey is back on the practice field and all seems well.

Look for Shockey to help his team all yearlong but not get enough work to be an option you’ll want for a consistent weekly producer.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Marcedes Lewis | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: David Garrard is desperate for someone in the passing game to step up other than Mike Sims-Walker. Lewis is the kind of talent that seems to be just good enough to have a sparkle of hope but not good enough to deliver.

Still this team does have a serious need for production in the passing game and if their secondary should continue to struggle, they will have not have choice but to keep up by throwing the football more. While Lewis isn’t a good option to select on draft day he is the kind of player you could use in a pinch for help throughout the year.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Anthony Fasano | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Fasano will never be a great reception or yardage type of option for a fantasy owner. His value, if any, is in fantasy leagues that are touchdown driven but with his pore performance in 2009 this is probably his final year to show much of anything.

Miami was thought to be looking heavily at a tight end in the draft this season, but they opted not to take one and focused more on defense. This gave Fasano another chance to be the teams starting tight end in 201o. Quarterback Chad Henne will be entering his second season as the teams’ starter and should accumulate more touchdown passes than the twelve he total last season.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Ben Watson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Watson finally got out of New England as he parlayed that into a starting gig with the Cleveland Browns. Maybe Watson will be more active in the play calling for Jake Delhomme but that isn’t saying very much.

The Browns may try to throw the football his way a little more than in New England but the success rate won’t be as good. Expect another boring season from Watson in one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL.

Date June 9th, 2010: TE Brandon Pettigrew | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Pettigrew isn’t a lock to be in the teams starting lineup come week one as he is expected to be on the PUP list to start training camp. As long as all goes well he should be with the team to start the year and that will be good for Stafford and the passing game.

As for offensive production that will fall to newly acquired Tony Scheffler to be the teams receiving tight end. Pettigrew might make for a decent backup fantasy tight end at some point in this career but right now he isn’t a viable option with Scheffler on the team and recovering from a major injury.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Alex Smith | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Smith may be heading into his sixth year in the NFL but he barley turned 26 years old at the start of May. Because of Smith’s age and the fact, the team finally has a good offense around him, there is hope for Smith to turn his career around and be a respectable player.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Ben Roethlisberger| 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has been a horrible one for Roethlisberger, and it’s his own fault for most of it. With a horrible lifestyle off the field Steeler fans have turned their backs to him and his management is very upset. It is believed that because of his problems the team made an example out of Santonio Holmes (also had issues) and traded him away for a fifth round pick.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Chad Henne | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Henne received the very thing he needed to take the next step in his career when the team landed Brandon Marhsall in a trade this past April. With Marshall, Henne now has a true number one receiver to go with his other cast of characters.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB David Garrard | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Speculation had it that the Jaguars were looking for another quarterback to compete with Garrard this offseason. Many felt the team would go after Tim Tebow as he would bring in much needed sales to the team.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Jason Campbell | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Campbell was traded away to the Raiders and will be the teams starting quarterback. Campbell should be a breath of fresh air for Raider fans in comparison to JaMarcus Russell and his pathetic display.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Charlie Whitehurst | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Seahawks seemed convinced that Whitehurst was a good get as they traded for him this offseason. Whitehust is being groomed as the teams future quarterback as Matt Hasselbeck is going to be 35 in September.

At some point this season we will probably see Whitehurst on the field as Hasselbeck will probably go down with an injury. He might see action also if and when the Seahawks fall out of contention for a playoff spot and the Seahawks want to take a look at Whitehurst before next years offseason.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Jimmy Clausen | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Clausen in all likely hood will begin his career with the Panthers as the teams back up behind Matt Moore. Coach John Fox is extremely loyal to his veterans and Moore has earned the right to be the teams’ starter.

This will probably be a good thing for Clausen as any young quarterback can use extra time to ease into playing at the pro level. If Moore should struggle or fall to injury, Clausen would probably find the field in his rookie season. Other than that he will have to wait till next year for his opportunity.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Colt McCoy | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: McCoy will probably begin his career as the teams third quarterback as he will be behind NFL greats Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme. Given the players in front of him, it’s not hard to believe that McCoy could see some playing time by the seasons end.

Hopefully, we can see some of McCoy’s young wide receivers make strides throughout the season as he will need them to play well once he gets on the field. Overall it’s going to be a long season for the Browns passing game and McCoy won’t be taking them very far any time soon.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Bruce Gradkowski | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gradkowski might have been the Raiders starting quarterback this year if the team didn’t trade for Jason Campbell. Now, Gradkowski is the teams back up, but he may play this season if Campbell gets injured. This offense is probably better suited for Gradkowski in the sense that the teams offensive line isn’t strong and Campbell is a pocket passer.

With a group up front that is shaky, you need a quarterback that can move around and by time for himself. Given this flaw in the offense it is not a stretch to think we will see Gradkowski on the field in 2010 if Campbell goes down to injury.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Jake Delhomme | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Somehow, someway Delhomme not only found another franchise be a starter for, but he also received a two year contract worth over twelve million dollars. That pathetic team happens to be the lonely Browns, and it’s amazing how far this offense has fallen since their 2007 glory.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Mark Sanchez | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The offseason started out with a knee surgery for Sanchez but in April, he received another target in the passing game with the addition of Santonio Homles. This offense has a bunch of talent and proven players, so they should only help this young quarterback in his progression.

For this season, I still see Sanchez as a year away from being a true fantasy relevant player as the team should lean more on the running game. With the Bills and Patriots in their division throwing the football can be a challenge. Still, the future is bright for Sanchez and one day he should make for a decent fantasy play.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Matthew Stafford | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Stafford is progressing nicely as he is now taking all the snaps on the first team this offseason as has been given the right to call audibles. This is encouraging growth for the young franchise player as no one can deny his heart for the game after his play against the Browns and coming back to start against the Packers.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Stafford helps make Calvin Johnson a true top five fantasy receiver once again this year, but he’s not a starter in fantasy himself. Late in your draft he might make for a decent roll of the dice for a backup in deep leagues but that’s about it.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Matt Leinart | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With Warner’s retirement, Leinart became the favorite to be the Cardinals starting quarterback of the future. To start OTA’s Leinart wasn’t having a good start but by early June, he looked like a different quarterback. I expected Leinart to go through some of the learning curve he never received because of missing out on playing time the past few seasons.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Josh Freeman | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Unfortunately, for Freeman the team didn’t retain his top receiver Antonio Bryant this offseason. This left Freeman with only one true solid option in the passing game and that is Kellen Winslow. In the draft Tampa Bay picked up a couple talented young receivers in Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Vince Young | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Young is only worth having in fantasy league that gives points for the yardage a quarterback can gain on the ground. Thankfully, many standard leagues award such points and Young needs that to be worth a roster spot. With Chris Johnson running the football the Titans aren’t going to go pass happy and allow Young to post a bunch of stats.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Sam Bradford | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: As we are in June OTA’s the Rams aren’t giving Bradford snaps with the first team as A.J. Feely is seeing all the work. This is a clear sign that the Rams are more than likely going to use Feely as the starter to begin the season.

Since the Rams offensive line is still gelling and the passing game talent is much to be desired this is a good thing. Especially when you consider Bradford could use this time early on to learn and get his ailing shoulder stronger. By seasons end, I’m sure Bradford will be the teams starting quarterback.

For fantasy, he is only worth having in keeper leagues that have rookie drafts, and you can retain his rights. It’s going to take a couple years before Bradford is ready to make a respectable fantasy impact.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Tim Tebow | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: You probably won’t see Tebow as the teams starting quarterback this year, unless the team is out of the playoff hunt, and they decide to work their talented youngster. This could happen as the Broncos are in a rebuilding phase on offense, and they would need a tremendous year from their defense and Knowshon Moreno to stay in the playoff hunt.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Matt Hasselbeck | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Hasselbeck is penciled in as the teams starting quarterback for this up coming season. While Hasselbeck will keep his job, former Chargers’ quarterback Charlie Whitehurst is expected to be the teams future at this position.

If and when Hasselbeck sustains another injury he may not see his starting job again if Whitehurst plays well in his absence.

As for Hasselbeck’s fantasy value, he’s not worth selecting on draft day because of his health problems and the Seahawks offensive line issues.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Michael Vick | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It looked as if the Rams or Bills might make a play to trade for Vick this offseason but in the end he stayed with the Eagles. Vick reportedly has his speed back and is looking good in OTA’s so far. Still, this is expected to be Kevin Kolb’s show and Vick will probably be used like he was a season ago.

Some day Vick may get a starting job in the NFL again, but it doesn’t look like it will be in 2010.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Brady Quinn | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Quinn’s legacy may end up being best known for the reason why Jimmy Clausen dropped so far in the 2010 NFL draft. Quinn was thought to be “Pro ready” coming out of college, and it couldn’t of been farther from the case.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Kyle Orton | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has been a tough one for Orton as Marshall was traded away to the Dolphins. Even worse the team traded for Brady Quinn and then draft Tim Tebow as a future starting quarterback. With the addition of Tebow, it is obvious that Orton’s time as Denver’s starter is ticking.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Matt Cassel | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason the Chiefs did a good job in retaining Chambers with a new contract and also gave Cassel another receiving weapon in second round pick Dexter McCluster. Bowe and Chambers should be the teams starting receivers as McCluster will play more in the slot.

The Chiefs will probably lean on their talented running game as Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones have the easiest schedule to run against on paper.

Look for Cassel to make a run at close to 3,500 yards passing and move back over the twenty touchdown mark in his second season as the Chiefs starting quarterback.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Sage Rosenfels | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It looks like Rosenfels may fall all the way down to the third quarterback on the teams’ depth chart this offseason ad Tarvaris Jackson is the No.2 man. I like Rosenfels better than Jackson, and if he were to get an opportunity over him, he would make Sidney Rice and others more valuable.

Still, all that talk is void right now as it looks like Favre is going to make another run for a Super Bowl this season. Look for Rosenfels and Jackson to be on the bench as Favre is starting all year.

Date June 7th, 2010: QB Trent Edwards | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This summer Edwards is in a fight for the starting job with Brian Brohm and right now Edwards is leading the first team in OTA’s. With the departure of Terrell Owens, this passing game is in even worse shape than a year ago, and they need young unproven players to show they can do something.

No matter who ends up winning the starting job, they aren’t an option for your fantasy football team. In fact, you will probably want to start fantasy defenses against the group if they are respectable against the run.

Date June 5th, 2010: Giants Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Giants new defensive coordinator is bringing a positive energy to this group and that has players excited about this coming year. Even defensive end Osi Umenyoria seems up beat as we head into the summer and get ready for camps.

In the draft, the Giants addressed their issues up front with the addition of DE Jason Pierre-Paul and second round defensive tackle Linval Joseph. These additions will give this defense much needed depth to rotate players in and out as that is what they love to do.

Date June 5th, 2010: Chargers Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Williams left in free agency to the Broncos and the team didn’t seem to address their issues at tackle this offseason. Because of this situation (they finished 20th against the run last year) we have the Chargers’ defense in the middle of the pack.

Merriman should be ready to bounce back now that he is two years removed from his knee injury. The team even picked up more line backing help in the draft with third round pick Donald Butler.

Overall this defense is a valuable second group for you to have on your fantasy roster this year as they will play some nice matchups throughout the season.

Date June 5th, 2010: Colts Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Bob Sanders looks to be coming back to the team this year and that is a good sign for the Colts secondary. Another thing I like about this group is that the Colts’ management used their first, second and third round picks to add more defense.

With these additions, this defense should improve on last years’ numbers as they are only going to get better. Still, look for this defense as a decent backup squad to keep on your fantasy team this year as they won’t make for a great play every week.

Date June 5th, 2010: Redskins Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: So far, I don’t like what I’m seeing out of the Redskins defense this offseason. The team moved to a three – four setup and I don’t think they have the LB depth to play this effectively. Andre Carter now has to play as a linebacker instead of being a solid defensive end.

Beyond that free agent acquisition Maake Kemoeatu is still recovering from his torn Achille last summer and may not be ready to be the team full time nose tackle. Those problems are bad but I’m most disappointed in Albert Haynesworth’s attitude this offseason. For a guy that was given a 100 million dollar contract last year, you would think he would not be whining about wanting to leave the team.

Date June 5th, 2010: Cardinals Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason has seen more worse than good for this group as they’ve lost key veterans. Linebacker Karlos Dansby went to the Dolphins, safety Antrel Rolle moved on to the Giants and veteran leader Bertrand Berry retired.

We also have to find out if Matt Leinart can play at an effective level this year as he is taking over for the now retired Kurt Warner. If the offense isn’t giving this team solid leads they may have to be on the field longer in games and may not play with as much aggressiveness.

Date June 4th, 2010: Falcons Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason the organization addressed their secondary issues when they signed corner back Dunta Robinson in free agency. Robinson will help this secondary improve, but they will need better play overall to be a top twenty group in this area.

In the draft, the Falcons used their first pick to draft linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, and he should help this team right away. Even with these additions, it is going to take a great season from their offense to help them be a fantasy relevant defense.

Date June 5th, 2010: Titans Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Don’t look for the Titans’ defense as an option worth drafting this summer as they are still in a rebuilding phase. The team continues to see once key star talents in KVB and Keith Bulluck leave the team or see reduced roles.

One area this team played respectable in is against the run as they were 11th overall. This is a good but when you face Matt Schaub and Peyton Manning four times a year you need a shut down secondary. The Titans should be better against the pass, but they probably won’t be a top ten group.

Date June 4th, 2010: Bills Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Since the Bills are going with a three – four defenses, they needed a big tackle at this years’ draft. In the second round, they did just that as they acquired Torrell Troup to be the future nose tackle of this team.

Even with this move I believe the Bills will still be bad against the run as they don’t have enough depth on the line and at linebacker to have a truly successful year in this area. The teams secondary will however be strong, but they will probably have a drop off from the turnovers, they got last season.

This group is maybe another year away from being a true fantasy relevant defense. Still, when your fantasy receivers on your team play this group they will probably have down weeks.

Date June 4th, 2010: Dolphins Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The secondary has more experience and the addition of linebacker Karlos Dansby should help against the pass and run. Miami also made it a priority to add more defense in the draft as they used their first and second round picks on that side of the football.

Look for the Dolphins to be an improved group, but I don’t believe that will be a good fantasy option until next season. By then Vontae Davis and Sean Smith will be in their third years as starting corners. As long as both player progress well this year I would expect this unit to be a top ten overall group against the pass as soon as 2011.

Date June 4th, 2010: Texans Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: As soon as this group had positive momentum going into an offseason it was washed away quickly. In free agency the Texans lost their top corner back in Dunta Robinson and after the draft we learned that Cushing would miss the first four games of the season for failing the leagues’ substance abuse policy.

Couple these miss fortunes and the fact that this group wasn’t strong in sacks and turnovers last year, and they aren’t close to a fantasy relevant defense in 2010.

Date June 4th, 2010: Browns Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Cleveland had a bunch of draft picks this year, and they needed all of them to fill the many holes this team has.

For all the talent, they brought in from the draft I was disappointed they let go of veterans Kamerion Wembley and Corey Williams. It’s hard to believe a defense is getting better when they draft players to fill the gaps left behind by those they’ve let go. Adding talent onto what they already had would have been nice to see.

If the Browns post a respectable year on defense it will be a credit to the coaching staff and how they have selected players in the draft.

Date June 4th, 2010: Buccaneers Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason is another story for the Buccaneers as they’ve gone back to the Cover 2 defense. I also like the fact that their first two picks in the draft were spent on bolstering their defensive tackle situation.

While this group is going through a rebuilding phase it looks like management has pulled itself together and is moving in the right direction. Don’t look for the Buccaneers to be strong this year but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are playing good football on defense in the second half of the season.

Date June 4th, 2010: Panthers Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This defense can make turnovers and play well against the pass, but they lack enough decency in other areas to be a good group. With the loss of Julius Peppers and Maake Kemuatu, I have major concerns for this teams’ ability to stop the run and rush the quarterback.

Even worse than losing those talents is that they didn’t do much in the draft or free agency to address this problem. Look for this group to finish as one of the worst in the running game as they should be gashed by good teams like the Falcons this year.

Date June 4th, 2010: Jaguars Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Signing Aaron Kampmann this offseason was a good start for this team to find the quarterback. In the draft, they picked up a couple lineman and then traded for middle linebacker Kirk Morrison from the Raiders.

These moves should help this team, but I was disappointed to see them release John Henderson after the draft. Jacksonville needs all the help they can get and with their newly acquired players it would have taken pressure off Henderson.

All and all, it would be a shocker to see Jacksonville finish as a top twenty defense this year.

Date June 4th, 2010: Lions Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Lions have made some noise this offseason as they picked up defensive tackle Corey Williams in a trade and signed Kyle Vanden Bosh in free agency. To top that off, they got maybe the best player in this years’ draft in defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska.

These three key additions will make the Lions much improved on the defensive line and that is an exciting thing heading into the season. Still, this defense has much to be desired in the secondary as their most notable acquisition was in a trade for Falcons’ corner Chris Houston.

Date June 4th, 2010: Seahawks Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: At the draft, the Seahawks gave themselves some instant help in the secondary when they selected Earl Thomas from Texas. While Taylor Mays (safety USC) may have been ticked about Coach Pete Carroll not selecting him, Thomas is the more pro ready talent at this time.

Coach Carroll and his staff should make this defense much improved over time, but they will probably still have their struggles this season. It does help that Trufont is supposedly 100% healthy from his back issue as he can be a game changer when he’s right.

Overall I believe this group will need another year of seasoning and a solid offseason in free agency and the draft before they can be a top fifteen group once again.

Date June 4th, 2010: Chiefs Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: At the draft, the Chiefs had another top five draft pick and used it on safety Eric Berry from Tennessee. Berry has a world of talent and the Chiefs had best hope they picked right on Berry as they are desperate for more help in the secondary.

I was surprised that the Chiefs choose not to address their need at nose tackle as starter Ron Edwards is getting older and will be used in a rotational role. This seemed to be a key need area and the Chiefs choose to ignore this on draft day.

Don’t look for the Chiefs to be strong against the pass or against the run this season as they will have to score often to stay in football games. Still, this team is starting to put some pieces together and hopefully Coordinator Romeo Crennel can mold them into something productive by the second half of the season.

Date June 4th, 2010: Rams Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With the first pick in the draft this defense could have gotten a big boost drafting Suh out of Nebraska but instead choose to go with quarterback Sam Bradford. In the second round, they choose to ignore the defense once again as they went with an offensive lineman to help Bradford.

Finally, in the third round they selected corner back Jerome Murphey, and I’m sure he’s going to take care of all their problems this season. He’s going to have to as now it looks like the team might part ways with one of their few talented defenders in safety OJ Atogwe.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Saints Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look for the Saints’ defense to backslide in 2010, as I can’t remember a defense like this posting two consecutive years of six or more total touchdowns. Last year was a great ride, and it ended with this team winning the Super Bowl. Coordinator Greg Williams does a solid job of finding weaknesses in the opponents’ offense and his players do very good at exploiting them.

Still, Darren Sharper has a bad knee and won’t cover the ground he did last year in the secondary. His key decline is a killer for this team when it comes to turnovers because he is a master at doing just that. The Saints’ defense will probably be selected on draft day but you shouldn’t be the one going for them, unless they are the second group for your team.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Raiders Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: When this defense plays respectable against the run, they are a very good unit. That said, they seem to have a hard time against the shifty style running backs and that isn’t good when you face Knowshon Moreno and Jamaal Charles four games a year.

This offseason Oakland has added some defensive help at linebacker with the trade to acquire Kamerion Wembley and the addition of Rolando McClain in the draft. They even added more help on the defensive line in Lamaar Houston but that might not be enough to make them a fantasy relevant team.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Broncos Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all the success, this defense enjoyed last year, their small size up front was exploited in the second half of the season as teams gashed them in the running game. Because of this Denver made it a point to get some bigger men up front to play the three – four defense.

The top headline acquisition they landed was former Chargers nose tackle Jamal Williams. Williams missed just about all of last season because of an injury, but he is expected to be ok for this up coming season. It will be vitally important for Williams to be on the field as this style of defense needs a good nose tackle to have success.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Cowboys Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I’m a little concerned about this defense’s health up the middle as nose tackle Jay Ratliff has had surgery on both his elbows and aging middle linebacker Keith Brooking is having knee concerns.

At least the Cowboys addressed their depth behind Brooking at the draft as they selected inside linebacker Sean Lee in the second round.

With DeMarcus Ware still in the prime of his career and a strong secondary the Cowboys are still a top ten fantasy defense coming into the start of the season. Just remember that they can be a little slow at the start of the year and you might need to carry an extra defense to use early on.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Patriots Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With fresh help coming in from the draft this year, the Patriots should have a good camp on the defensive side of the football. This group is in a rebuilding phase and they need their draft picks to pay off if they plan on making back to the Super Bowl any time soon.

This season they should still be a top ten defense in the NFL, but they will need to make more sacks and turnovers to be a solid fantasy group. Look for them to improve this year but not be the defense they once were.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Bears Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason the Bears’ defense got some new energy as top free agent defensive end Julius Peppers signed with the team in March. Bringing in a player like Peppers is the kind of spark this group needed as they have another playmaking star on the team.

All of a sudden, it is possible to believe that the Bears may not just be better in 2010, but they should probably be a fantasy worthy squad. With Peppers and the return of Urlacher, this group should be ready to handle its business and get to the quarterback.

Now, we need to see Jay Cutler and the offense not fall into the big slumps from last year that hurt this defense and put them in bad field position. Look for the Bears’ defense as a sleeper to be had at the end of your draft.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Eagles Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Linebacker Stewart Bradley is back and the team did a good job in the draft when they picked up a bunch of talent to give this group more depth. The Eagles seem to thrive off of rotating players in and out as their secondary takes chances to make big plays.

Look for the Eagles’ defense to lead the charge for this team to have a winning season as they need to play well all year. That is exactly what they will do as they have more help to be a productive top ten fantasy defense once again in 2010. As always, they will struggle at times against the run, but overall they will be productive.

Date June 3rd, 2010: Bengals Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Bengals seem to pull out a winning season every once in awhile, but they have the hardest time doing it two years in a row. Look for this group to have more sacks and turnovers this year but maybe not play as strong against the run and pass.

It will be interesting to see if this defense can produce another strong season overall. If they can, it’s time to look at this team as a force to be reckoned with as their young linebackers should only get better.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Ryan Succop | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Chiefs have made it a big point this offseason to get strong on offense. With additions of Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster this group has a chance to move the ball regularly. It also doesn’t hurt that the Chiefs have the easiest schedule to run the football against.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Dan Carpenter | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Dolphins needed to do something at receiver this offseason and they did by landing star wide out Brandon Marshall via trade. With this addition, Carpenter’s fantasy value can only be improved as Marshall will help this offense move the football down the field.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K David Buehler | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Buehler is getting every opportunity to be the teams’ kicker this offseason and so far he’s making the most of his opportunities. Coach Wade Philips has cited that Buehler has been just about perfect in OTA’s and this can only help his chances to be the teams starting kicker this year.

If Buehler wins the job, he will be one a winning team with an explosive offense to move the football. This group is going to score points and that means Buehler has instant fantasy relevance Not only does Buehler have a good situation going for him, but he has a strong leg as well.

Being accurate will be the key for Buehler but in the end I wouldn’t be surprised if he remains the teams’ kicker all year and is starting for some fantasy teams by the end of the season.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Jason Hanson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Lions offense and team are starting to show more life as they’ve had a very good offseason and should be competitive this coming year. Because of this Hanson is a fantasy sleeper to be a productive option regularly at his old age.

Hanson still posses a strong leg and should get a good amount of opportunities as Matthew Stafford continues to grow as a quarterback. I wouldn’t recommend you draft Hanson this summer but if the Lions are playing good football and the kicker you drafted isn’t doing well, give Hanson a look.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Robbie Gould | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Bears should move the football this season but the question is in which direction will the football be going. When Jay Cutler is having a good stretch, Gould should be a viable fantasy option but when Cutler is down and throwing a bunch of interceptions this team will play from behind.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Joe Nedney | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even though Nedney was a disappointment last season, I’m willing to give him the nod to be a relevant fantasy option in 2010. The 49ers are an improving team and offense as they should fight for the NFC Western Title all yearlong.

As long as Nedney is healthy he should capitalize on the 49ers success and post a bounce back year for fantasy owners. He may not get as many opportunities as 2008 because the offense is converting more drives into touchdowns, but he should provide you with steady points all yearlong.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Josh Brown | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If the Rams can play respectable football and stay in games until the fourth quarter, Brown should get back to a high twenty field goal conversions. Don’t look for this team to score many touchdowns and that is going to make Brown’s pat total one of the worst in football yet again.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Josh Scobee | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even if Scobee has found his stride again, he’s not worth drafting as your fantasy kicker this season. At the same time, Scobee has made four attempts from 50 plus each of the past two seasons and that is encouraging.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K John Kasay | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Because of Kasay’s troubles with the deep ball, the Panthers are expected to bring in a possible kicker to take away opportunities from a distance. This isn’t uncommon with older kickers as they tend to still be good from short range but can’t bang home the deeper opportunities.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Rian Lindell | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Owner Ralph Wilson has had a good ride since the days when he helped start the AFL / AFC, but he’s getting long in the tooth. The old man was firing management and coaches fast and furious by mid season last year once he realized the team wasn’t as good as some in management made it out to be.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Neil Rackers | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Rackers should have the clear advantage over Kris Brown as the two veterans battle it out this summer. Brown missed way to many opportunities last year and especially in the clutch. Rackers may not be a great clutch kicker, but he is much better than the way Brown performed last season.

Date June 2nd, 2010: K Kris Brown | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The hour is late for Brown as the team signed Neil Rackers this offseason to a two year contract for over four million dollars. While the contract has only 350,000 guaranteed on it the odds of Brown being the teams’ kicker this year isn’t promising.
