Let’s face it, writing articles is all well and good but most people (including us) just don’t want to sit down and read article after article to gain an edge. Sure, if you’re going to school to become a doctor you won’t have a choice but to hit the books and educate yourself.

Fortunately having success in fantasy football doesn’t take lots of thinking and studying to win regularly. All it takes is a little basic knowledge and staying informed on current events that can change your opinion of players fantasy value.

This is why the guys from fantasy football information have started a new audio chapter to the website, and it’s called fantasy philosophers. Here you can find our recent thoughts and quick ramblings on current events for fantasy football in an audio format.

Fantasy Philosophers Archives: Current Month | Apr | May | June | July | Aug | Sep| Oct | Nov

Fantasy Philosophers Podcast’s For May, 2010
Date May 31st, 2010: QB Matt Moore | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With the second easiest passing schedule in football Moore has an opportunity to shine in 2010. Many fantasy owners may look at this team and only know about Smith as a relevant option, but I believe that will change by seasons end.

In Moore, fantasy owners should have themselves a very nice backup to go to when they need a change of pace. Expect Moore to produce a good season and don’t worry about Jimmy Clausen until maybe next year.

Date May 31st, 2010: QB Joe Flacco | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The offseason has been kind to Flacco as the Ravens went out and traded for Anquan Boldin. Now, Flacco finally had a true No.1 receiver and that wasn’t all the team gave him. Additions of speedster Donte’ Stallworth and rookie tight ends Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta will help him as well.

Date May 31st, 2010: QB Matt Ryan | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason the team is working on throwing the deep ball more often and that should benefit Ryan. Still, this team does have a very good running back and because of that I don’t believe Ryan is ready to be an every week fantasy play.

Look for Ryan to throw for around 3,500 yards and 25 touchdowns in this third season. Because of his talent, he could breakout and have a big year but that might depend on how bad the defense plays as he would have to continue to score points. Ryan makes for a very nice backup quarterback for your fantasy team this season.

Date May 31st, 2010: QB Carson Palmer | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: It will be interesting to see what kind of numbers Palmer has by seasons end as the team acquired Antonio Bryant and draft Jermaine Gresham. This two pass catchers should help Palmer over the course of the season and that will help his fantasy value.

Fantasy owners should look to Palmer to produce more than 3,500 yards passing and around 25 touchdowns this season. Hopefully, his throwing arm is ok, and we can get past all this heath speculation by the end of the year.

Date May 31st, 2010: TE Chris Cooley | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Speculation had Cooley leaving the Redskins even before last season ended as many thought the team would move forward with Davis. Instead of Cooley moving on, new head coach Mike Shanahan decided to keep the talented veteran.

With a proven coaching staff that likes to use their tight ends, Cooley should have a nice bounce back season as long as he can stay healthy. If you’re in a twelve team fantasy football league than Cooley should make for a nice value starter for your team as he will be cheaper than previous years because of the injury.

Date May 31st, 2010: TE Kellen Winslow | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even though Freeman looks to Winslow regularly, we still have Winslow down in our rankings. This season there is a good class of fantasy tight ends and Winslow has one of the more un-proven quarterbacks of all the top targets to choose from.

Look for Winslow as one of the later starting tight ends to choose from at your up coming fantasy football draft. If you’re in a PPR or yardage league, Winslow will have more value than a touchdown heavy league.

Date May 29th, 2010: RB LenDale White Released | 2010 Fantasy Football Projections
With Leon Washington looking at a possible start to the season on the PUP list (would miss first six games) running back Justin Forsett is the projected starter at this time.

Forsett had a very good end of the season last year, and I couldn’t figure out why Coach Jim Mora Jr kept starting Julius Jones over Forsett when he was clearly running better.

Date May 28th, 2010: WR Michael Crabtree | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Crabtree is clearly a better player than Darrius Heyward-Bey right now, and it’s understandable that he was ticked last offseason about Bey being selected in front of him. Still, Crabtree is going to be a very good receiver in this league, and he was compensated by the 49ers.

Look for Crabtree to be a threat for 100 catches this season as the offense is ready to move the football and produce points. The team is using Crabtree all over the place this offseason as they get ready to lean on him and Vernon Davis as the main targets.

Date May 28th, 2010: WR Mike Sims-Walker | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I don’t expect Walker to have a slow down towards the end of the season this year as he is better prepared to handle a full schedule. Assuming he can stay healthy, Walker is a good bet to be a top twenty fantasy producer at receiver.

Look for David Garrard to call up Walker’s number early and often this year as he should threaten for 90 plus receptions in his second full season.

Date May 28th, 2010: WR Dwayne Bowe | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: At least on the field Bowe hasn’t had any problems this offseason as he looks to be in shape and is running with the first team in OTA’s. If Bowe can continue to not have problems, he will still be a clear top twenty fantasy talent at receiver.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a few fantasy owners in most leagues look the other way when they see Bowe’s name because of his issues a year ago. Understanding this you will probably be able to select Bowe at a decent value at your draft. Look for Bowe to have a nice bounce back season as long as everything is good before the year begins.

Date May 28th, 2010: RB Jahvid Best | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Kevin Smith suffered a torn acl late in the 2009 season, and he won’t be at full strength for this up coming year. This means Best is the clear starting running back and should see over 300 touches if he plays a full season.

Outside of Best’s injury concerns, his offensive line leaves a lot to be desired as they aren’t the greatest of groups. Still, Best does have some help in the passing game and his defense is getting much better. Look for the Lions to play much closer in many of their games as we head deeper into the season.

Date May 28th, 2010: RB Ronnie Brown | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Brown’s foot is making good progress, and he is fully expected to be with the team in July for camp and practice in full contact. This is a very good sign that Brown should be ready to roll to start the season as long as he doesn’t suffer a setback in camp.

Assuming Brown is healthy by the time your draft starters, look for him as a top twenty option in the running game. When he’s on the field he will play more like a top ten fantasy running back. If you do end up selecting him, it would be a very good idea to get Ricky Williams as a hand cuff runner so that if Brown goes down again, you have protection.

Date May 28th, 2010: RB Jerome Harrison | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: You would think Harrison would have the starting job after the terrific finish he had but that is not the case. The Browns drafted Montario Hardesty in the second round this April, and he’s had a good OTA camp so far. In the early portion of camp Harrison was out because he’s looking for a new contract.

Because of Hardesty’s solid play, Harrison quickly came back to camp in late May to try and hold the starting job. Harrison will probably keep the role but Hardesty is a big threat to force a RBBC situation as he is a bigger more physical runner and would make for a goal line carrier.

This definitely hurts Harrison and he will probably needs Hardesty to suffer an injury to control the main workload on the team. Because of this we have Harrison as a boarder line top twenty fantasy back, and he could fall just out of that area by August.

Date May 27th, 2010: RB Knowshon Moreno | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s people around the Broncos have raved about Moreno as he looks like the player they selected out of Georgia. The main reason for the change is that Moreno is now trusting his “big play” cut back ability and not just taking the instruction from the coaching staff.

Trusting instincts is a big deal for just about anyone in whatever, they are doing and this is oh so true for a running back. Tony Dorsett used to say he had to go with what he saw on the field, and if he noticed an opening he would, “run to day light.”

Date May 27th, 2010: RB Ryan Grant | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Grant may not be the greatest pass catcher or the biggest yard producer at the running back position. That said, he is a very nice No.2 running back for any fantasy owner to have as he can put on respectable numbers in a great offense.

With Aaron Rogers as the teams’ quarterback you know defenses are going to respect the passing game, and they won’t be able to cheat up at the line to stop the run. This allows Grant to see a limited amount of eight man fronts throughout the season and makes him an attractive player for production.

Date May 27th, 2010: RB Felix Jones | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Early in the offseason, rumors broke out that the team was expected to make Jones the starting tailback for this season. Those rumors have now grown into almost certainty as we are in OTA’s and Jones continues to get solid work.

Look for Marion Barber to come in as the No.2 running back and pound on defense like he did when he was in this role a few years ago. It’s easy to say that Barbers most productive seasons were in this role so having him play that way makes a lot of sense.

Date May 27th, 2010: WR Greg Jennings | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: One trend I’m noticing from different fantasy football writers and sites is that they seem to have Jennings as a lock to return to a high touchdown total. If Rodgers has better timing with Jennings on the deep ball than I could see a return to at least seven scores this season.

Date May 27th, 2010: WR Steve Smith – Giants | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: New York is primed to throw the football again in 2010 as Manning is ready to be the true leader of this offense. Smith should benefit as he is the possession receiver on this team, and should post over 90 receptions once again.

Date May 27th, 2010: WR Steve Smith – Panthers | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look for Smith to have a nice bounce back season with Moore under center. Smith’s physical tools were definitely not the problem last year as he was more than explosive with Moore throwing the football.

A return to eight plus touchdowns and over 1,200 yards receiving should be an easy task for this one time tip five fantasy stud receiver.

Date May 26th, 2010: QB Brett Favre | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Maybe Favre will only end up with one Super Bowl Championship when he finally retires for good but his career has been an amazing ride.

From never missing starts to continually making no name receivers house hold names, this gunslinger has done it all. I wouldn’t expect Favre to reach the numbers he did a year ago, but he should get back to close to 4,000 yards passing and just under 30 touchdowns.

That makes Favre a top ten fantasy quarterback this year on draft day.

Date May 26th, 2010: QB Kevin Kolb | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Kolb still needs to prove he can be a good quarterback from week one all the way through a season.

Kolb is in a situation that is very comparable to Aaron Rodgers just a few seasons ago as he was taking over for a star quarterback and needed to prove he was worth it. At the same time, Rodgers had a great supporting cast and a good West Coast System.

Date May 26th, 2010: QB Donovan McNabb | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason the Eagles traded McNabb away to the Redskins as they are ready to use Kolb in the starting lineup. This trade hurts McNabb’s fantasy value as he doesn’t have a elite No.1 receiver once again and his offensive line is in a rebuilding phase.

Date May 26th, 2010: QB Jay Cutler | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Bears parted ways with just about all of their coaching staff this offseason and brought in Mike Martz to head the offensive play calling.

Unfortunately, the Bears still have problems on the offensive line and their receivers aren’t great timing and rhythm players. In a Martz offense, you have to run precise routes and get to where you need to be as the football will be on point when you get there.

Date May 26th, 2010: TE Tony Gonzalez | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gonzalez decided early in the offseason that he was going to come back for his 14th NFL season. With a young quarterback in Ryan that is only getting better and a playoff caliber team, Gonzalez is in a good situation.

Date May 26th, 2010: TE Visanthe Shiancoe | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Favre is expected to come back this year after ankle surgery so this is a good thing for Shiancoe. The old gunslinger loves to find his big tight end when the team gets inside the red zone.

Date May 26th, 2010: K Sebastian Janikowski | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Janikowski is a clear top ten fantasy kicker this year and one of our favorite sleepers at this position to have a good overall campaign in the kicking game. The Raiders have improved at quarterback and on the offensive line.

Date May 26th, 2010: K Ryan Longwell | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look for Longwell to have another fine season as the Vikings are one of the better teams in the NFL. With a great all around team, Longwell will continue to provide consistent production for your fantasy team and that is why he’s one of our top five fantasy kickers.

Date May 26th, 2010: K Jay Feely | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With Kurt Warner gone to retirement the kicking game should open up once again as Matt Leinart is under center. Beyond the loss of Warner, the Cardinals also traded away touchdown maker Anquan Boldin to the Ravens.

Date May 26th, 2010: K Garrett Hartley | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Riding high off of last year playoff performance, Hartley should have a good year in 2010. He is in a great offense that will give their kicker opportunities for points.

Date May 26th, 2010: K Matt Prater | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Unfortunately, for Prater the Broncos parted ways with offensive weapons Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler this offseason. Even worse the team is in a state of flux with their quarterback situation.

Date May 26th, 2010: K Nick Folk | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason, the Jets decided to part ways with Jay Feely, and they signed Folk. So far, in OTA’s Folk has struggled badly and Coach Rex Ryan has had concern about his kicking game.

Date May 25th, 2010: RB Steven Jackson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: No one would be surprised if the Rams are the worst team in football once again in 2010. This is part of the reason why we have Jackson outside of our top ten running backs. Talent wise, Jackson is probably one of the top five at running back, but he probably won’t finish the season with that kind of stat line.

Date May 25th, 2010: RB Beanie Wells | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With the retirement of Kurt Warner the Cardinals will probably lean on the running game more often with Matt Leinart under center. This means Wells will get more opportunities to be a productive fantasy option from week one all the way through the season.

Date May 25th, 2010: RB Rashard Mendenhall | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Steelers management and fan base have been screaming for a return to hard nosed defense and a smash mouth running game. This means good things for Mendenhall because the defense should give him many opportunities and his number will be called often for the ground game.

Date May 25th, 2010: RB Jamaal Charles | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Unfortunately for Charles, the Chiefs went out and acquired Thomas Jones in the offseason. Jones has scored at least fourteen touchdowns in each of the past two seasons, and he is a serious threat to Charles for red zone touches.

Date May 25th, 2010: TE Owen Daniels | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Daniels isn’t expected to participate in OTA workouts with the team but everything is looking good for him to return by the time camp opens up in July. Don’t expect Daniels to be a full strength until next year as it usually takes a player until their second season after an ACL injury to play at a top level.

Date May 25th, 2010: TE Jason Witten | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Because of the lack of touchdown production over the past couple seasons, we have Witten ranked outside the top five fantasy tight ends. If you’re in a league that is more yardage and reception friendly, Witten has more value than that.

Date May 24th, 2010: WR Marques Colston | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Colston has had at least eight touchdowns and over 1,000 yards in three of the four years he’s played. Outside of injury one has to believe that this talented pass catcher will play up to those standards once again in 2010.

Date May 24th, 2010: WR Sidney Rice | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all the success Rice had last season, we still need to find out if Favre will come back for the 2010 schedule. As of late May, the odds of Favre coming back look strong as he had surgery on his ankle and many feel he wouldn’t of done that, unless he was coming back.

Date May 24th, 2010: WR Chad Ochocinco | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With the ill timed death of Chris Henry last season, defenses were able to lock down on Ochocinco in the second half of the year. This slowed down what could have been an even better stat line in 2009.

Date May 24th, 2010: WR Anquan Boldin | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Boldin finally got out of Arizona as the team traded him away to the Baltimore for a third round pick. Now, Boldin is the unquestioned top receiver on his team again and fantasy owners can expect him to produce a solid year.

Date May 20th, 2010: RB Shonn Greene | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The hype train started on Greene well before Jones was released from the team in March as certain fantasy owners are geeked about his ability in the Jets’ offense. Seeing what he accomplished in January and what Jones has done in this offense each of the past two years it’s easy to see why.

Date May 20th, 2010: RB Cedric Benson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Benson will still have to face the Steelers and Ravens twice a season, but he did rush for over 100 yards both times he faced the Ravens. It’s hard enough to run over 100 yards against that team once in a career let alone do it two times in one season. I will have to check the record books but that might be the first time any runner has ever done that since Ray Lewis has been with the team.

Date May 20th, 2010: QB Tony Romo | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look for Romo to go back over thirty touchdowns this season as he has more talent with Dez Bryant and Kevin Ogletree showing promise.

Date May 20th, 2010: QB Eli Manning | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I don’t believe the Giants will become a run heavy offense again this year as Manning has become much more than a game manager. To be honest this offense would probably be better suited with Ahmad Bradshaw in the backfield as he can catch the football and is a nice slash style compliment to the passing game.

Date May 20th, 2010: Steelers Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I can’t remember the Steelers ever having two years in a row that they didn’t perform on defense the way they expected to do so. As long as Polamalu is healthy, this group is set up for a major bounce back season even with their star quarterback out for awhile.

Remember two years ago this defense practically carried this team to the Super Bowl as the offense was struggling on the offensive line and in the running game. This defensive unit can be dominant without their offense playing great football, and they should do this once again in 2010.

Date May 20th, 2010: Vikings Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Early in the Spring it looked like the Williams Wall would miss a month because of their Star Caps situation but now a Judge as ruled that the trial will basically be moved until next year. This makes the Vikings’ defense strong once again, and they should be one of the top fantasy defense to get this year.

Date May 19th, 2010: RB Ryan Mathews | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Early in OTA’s Mathews is the center piece of what the team is trying to do on offense. With LaDainian Tomlinson gone, this team needs another reliable option in the running game to help their dynamic passing attack.

Mathews is a hard runner that is physically gifted to be a touchdown maker in this league. Not only that but his hands are soft enough that the Chargers can still use him underneath in the passing game which they love to do with their backs.

As long as Mathews is still the projected starter come August, my only concern for his rookie year is when they get into the later part of the schedule. Rookie players aren’t used to playing in the NFL obviously, and they’ve never played a full sixteen game schedule.

Date May 19th, 2010: RB DeAngelo Williams | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Williams may be in his final season with the Panthers as the team is tentatively expected not to bring him back next season. Look for Williams to start as his coach John Fox is very loyal to his veteran players.

Since Williams had a good bill of health before last season I’m going to say he can play all sixteen games this year, unless we see some problems with him before the season begins.

Despite Stewart’s great talent, we still have Williams as the seventh best fantasy running back to take for this up coming season. If you can live with Stewart having better days than Williams every once in awhile, this running back should be a good one for you to own all year.

Date May 19th, 2010: QB Philip Rivers | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Maybe the Chargers would’ve been better off keeping Drew Brees but Rivers is certainly no slouch. With Rivers at the helm, this team is going to be a threat to win a Super Bowl for a long time as he has a very good bill of health throughout his career.

Some weeks the Chargers may not have to throw much because they have the game in hand but overall Rivers will be a productive fantasy quarterback on your team throughout the fantasy football season.

Date May 19th, 2010: QB Matt Schaub | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: We’ve known for awhile now that the Texans are a pass heavy offense and that won’t change in 2010. The Texans’ defense is going to be shaky in the secondary as they lost top corner back Dunta Robinson in free agency and linebacker Brian Cushing is out the first month because of suspension.

As the Texans give up the points on defense their offense will have to score into the thirty’s to win football games and that means high offensive production. At the center of this output is Schaub as he has a good group of pass catchers to throw the football too.

Look for Schaub to have another strong season as long as he’s not on the sidelines with an injury.

Date May 19th, 2010: TE Brent Celek | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Like all pass catchers for the Eagles, we will have to find out if they can still be productive with Donovan McNabb now gone from the team. Kevin Kolb is slated to take over as the team starter as he’s projected to be a strong quarterback in short to mid range accuracy than McNabb.

Date May 19th, 2010: TE John Carlson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With a patch work offensive line Carlson was forced to spend more time blocking last season than the team would have liked. Carlson is clearly a gifted pass catcher and that is why he was an early second round pick a few seasons ago.

Date May 18th, 2010: WR Calvin Johnson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Johnson is probably the most talent receiver in all of football as Randy Moss is aging. For all of Calvin Johnson’s ability I am concerned about his ability to respond physically to an injury.

Date May 18th, 2010: WR Miles Austin | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With hard work, a great attitude and perseverance Austin has made himself into one of the top ten fantasy options for this up coming season. Not only is Miles Austin talented, but he has a great quarterback and a very good team to play on.

Date May 18th, 2010: WR Brandon Marshall | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Broncos were determined to get rid of their “problem player” in Marshall. In April, the team traded Brandon Marshall to the Dolphins and the stud wide out got his big pay day.

Date May 18th, 2010: WR Reggie Wayne | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For all of Wayne’s success I can’t help but feel his numbers will fall back to his 2008 totals. Those numbers were respectable as he totaled 82 receptions for over 1,100 yards and six touchdowns, but those aren’t exactly the numbers you expect from you best fantasy receiver.

Date May 17th, 2010: 49ers Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If the 49ers offense was good for a spoon full of help last year, they should provide a Gatorade jugs worth this year. With a potentially dominant offensive line and playmakers all around the field this team should play with a lead going into the 4th quarter of many games.

Date May 17th, 2010: Packers Team Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Pack is back with a strong group of players as they look to have another fine season on defense and as a team. This should be the year they really push the Vikings for the division title, and they will probably beat them once this season.

Date May 17th, 2010: K Nate Kaeding | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Hopefully, Kaeding can get over his demons that have cost him to miss easy playoff field goals, and he’s ready to produce for fantasy owners. This should be another strong season as LT is gone and the team will probably use Kaeding as much as last season.

Date May 17th, 2010: K Mason Crosby | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I still have faith that Crosby can at least return to his rookie numbers when he blasted 12 conversions from over 40 yards out. Three of those were from 50 plus as he broke out big time.

Date May 17th, 2010: K Stephen Gostkowski | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gostkowski doesn’t have the biggest leg in the NFL, but he is a reliable fantasy kicker because of the team he’s on. While his conversions will probably stay below thirty this season he can give you steady points every week.

Date May 17th, 2010: K Lawrence Tynes | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Tynes won’t blow you away with a bunch of long field goal opportunities but he should give you a steady amount of scoring production (as far as kickers go) this season. In the end, that is probably what most fantasy owners hope to get from their spare tire of the team anyway.

Date May 16th, 2010: WR Larry Fitzgerald | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
Kurt Warner is gone and Matt Leinart needs to prove he’s a worthy starting quarterback in the NFL. This turnover hurts Fitzgerald fantasy value but not as much as you might think.

Date May 16th, 2010: WR Roddy White | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
Quarterback Matt Ryan is now heading into this third year as a starter, and it’s time to say he’s a veteran in the league. As Ryan continues to mature, White stands to benefit the most as the Falcons still need him to be the top dog in the passing game.

Date May 16th, 2010: WR DeSean Jackson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
If Donovan McNabb was with the Eagles, I would like Jackson’s odds of posting another big season much better. Still, Kevin Kolb did show he could make Jackson a very productive fantasy receiver in the two games he started last year.

Date May 16th, 2010: WR Vincent Jackson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
Jackson has one of the best quarterbacks and is in an explosive offense with the Chargers. This group is primed to have another great year as they actually face a better passing schedule this season. Last year they had one of the hardest schedules to pass against (coming into the year), and it didn’t seem to phase Rivers or Jackson.

Date May 16th, 2010: TE Dallas Clark | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
Clark is one of the best tight ends a fantasy owner can draft, but I would expect him to return to his 2009 numbers. With Gonzalez returning and the emergence of Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie, the Colts will spread the football around more.

Date May 16th, 2010: TE Jermichael Finley | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
Finley had his share of issues last season with a sprained knee and constant tardiness. This offseason Finley has noted during OTA’s that he has a new attitude and he won’t slack off like he did a year ago.

Date May 15th, 2010: RB Adrian Peterson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Vikings’ division is starting to become troubling for Peterson as the Lions and Bears have upgraded on the defensive line this offseason. Peterson already has the 12 hardest schedule against the run this year and these two teams improving against the run can’t help his numbers.

Date May 15th, 2010: RB Michael Turner | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s Turner came out publicly and admitted that he was out of shape last offseason and that was why he looked slow early on. At this time, Turner’s ankle is fully healed, and he’s reported to be in tip top shape as we head into the summer.

Date May 15th, 2010: RB Ray Rice | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I was hoping the Ravens would part ways with Willis McGahee this offseason and give Rice more opportunities at the goal line. Unfortunately, McGahee had a very productive year in 2009 and the team picked up his 3.6 million dollar option.

Date May 15th, 2010: RB Frank Gore | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The 49ers were our pick to win the NFC West even before the NFL draft and now with key offensive line additions in tackle Anthony Davis and big left guard Mike Iupati, we love (ok, I will admit it, I’m a 49ers fan) this team.

Date May 15th, 2010: QB Peyton Manning | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look for Manning to have another fabulous season as Gonzalez is returning to give “The Sheriff” another gun in his holster. With so many weapons to throw to, the Colts individual receivers could suffer in numbers because the football gets spread around.

Date May 15th, 2010: QB Tom Brady | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Expect Brady to have a better season in 2010 as he is now two years removed from his knee injury. Last year he had trouble at times with his accuracy and his physical recovery was the reason why. This season Brady should return to over 30 touchdown passes even without Wes Welker around for most of the season.

Date May 15th, 2010: WR Randy Moss | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This might be the final season for Moss in New England as the veteran pointed out that the team might not bring him back in 2011. That would be a shame as Moss has found a new life with Brady as his quarterback and the Patriots could use Moss’s deep threat ability.

Date May 15th, 2010: WR Andre Johnson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Johnson may not rack up a huge touchdown total, but he does consistently produce high volume reception and yardage weeks throughout a season. The Texans’ offense is only getting better as quarterback Matt Schaub continues to pick up the subtleties of the game.

Date May 15th, 2010: Baltimore Ravens Defense| 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The 2010 offeseason has been very kind to the Ravens overall as they now have a strong receiving core and pickup key help for the defense.

Date May 15th, 2010: New York Jets Defense | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With the addition of Antonio Cromartie and Jason Taylor in free agency, the Jets defense could take their defensive play to another level.

Date May 15th, 2010: TE Antonio Gates | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gates may or may not reach over 1,000 yards this season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he tops double digit touchdowns. With LaDainian Tomlinson gone, the Chargers will probably rely on Gates for touchdowns more in the red zone.

Date May 15th, 2010: TE Vernon Davis | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With a new outlook and preparation to the game of football, Davis is the top pass catcher in San Francisco. Look for Alex Smith to find Davis regularly as the team has upgraded on the offensive line and Smith should have some time to throw.

Date May 15th, 2010: K Rob Bironas | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Not only does Bironas have a big leg but his head coach Jeff Fisher has faith that he will deliver from a distance. This is great because a kicker needs to be sent on the field to be a good fantasy option and if his coach doesn’t trust him his opportunities are limited.

Date May 15th, 2010: K David Akers | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: For the second season in a row David Akers put together a great fantasy season. Both years Akers has completed 32 or more field goals and 43 plus pat’s.

Date May 15th, 2010: QB Drew Brees | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: What else can be said about Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints last season. Brees had another great fantasy season even tough the Saints had the hardest schedule against the pass coming into the year.

Date May 15th, 2010: QB Aaron Rodgers | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: For a quarterback to be a true fantasy stud, he needs great talent around him. Rodgers may not have a Randy Moss or Andre Johnson, but he does have maybe the best overall cast for any quarterback.

Date May 15th, 2010: RB Maurice Jones-Drew | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If it wasn’t for Chris Johnson, Mighty Mouse would be the top pick in fantasy leagues this up coming year. Drew may not be on a great team, but it is good enough to make him a productive player. Look for the fifth year stud to have another great year in his second season as the teams feature runner.

Date May 13th, 2010: RB Chris Johnson | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If you don’t have the top pick at your fantasy draft this season you had best hope you play Johnson on an off week. Even an off day is still a very good game for most NFL running backs so the odds of Johnson having little production against you is minimal.

Date May 6th, 2010: What Are PPR Fantasy Football Leagues?
What is PPR Fantasy Football?

The letters PPR are used to talk about a niche type for NFL fantasy football that people play across the internet. PPR or Point Per Reception is given this name because in this style of fantasy football league a person will get points for every reception that a running back, wide receiver or tight end gets in their respective league.

Date May 6th, 2010: QB JaMarcus Russell Released By Oakland Raiders
Since the Oakland Raiders traded for Jason Campbell in April, it has been expected that the team would part ways with their former top pick in JaMarcus Russell. Now, the team has done just that as they have given Russell his walking papers and are moving on without him.

Date May 1st, 2010: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh Goes In For Sport Hernia Surgery
Last season receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh had his second disappointing season in a row as he failed to top over 1,000 yards receiving once again. Not only that but he even dropped in his touchdown total from four in 2008 to only three in 2009.
