While there is no guaranteeing which teams will be strong and which teams will be weak in a given season, it’s still good to have an idea of the opponents your players will face.

Once the 2010 – 2011 season has started, we will find out which teams are for real and which teams are going to fold up. Who would have thought the Bengals would go undefeated in their division and the Titans would start out losing their first six games in 2009?

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: At the end of 2008 Pierre Thomas broke out onto the scene as Reggie Bush suffered another setback with his knee. During his great run, Thomas helped many fantasy owners win championships and became a player worth drafting the next season.

Unfortunately for Thomas he started the season with a knee injury and was irrelevant for the first two weeks of the year. Upon his arrival back to the lineup, Thomas posted some big days and then faded away some.

For the season he did have more carries and a better yard per carry average at 5.4 yards. Still his overall production was a disappointment to fantasy owners as they hoped to capture the magic he had from the year before.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: This offseason Thomas has been in a back and forth with the Saints over a new contract. As of June the team has threatened to even reduce his pay if he doesn’t sign his tender by the middle of the month. In the end, some agreement will be worked out and Thomas should be playing for the Saints.

Thomas is well in line to be the teams starting running back and should see a bigger workload than 2009. Reggie Bush only totaled 70 carries last season and the team didn’t keep Mike Bell as he went to the Eagles.

Look for Thomas to have a good season for your team as he will be playing for his big pay day (remember he wasn’t drafted out of college) this offseason. For Thomas to cash in on the open market he will have to continue to prove he’s worth a starting role on another team.
