2011 Top Dynasty Rankings – Rookie Drafts
Rankings Last Updated – August 21st

As is the case with most rookie drafts in dynasty / keeper leagues you’re probably going to want the immediate impact players as the top options on the list. Those tend to be running backs, unless you believe in a specific receiver(s) or quarterback(s) from that years draft class, that could provide big time upside in the coming years.
While 2011 has its share of quarterbacks drafted in the first two rounds I can’t say with any confidence that any of these quarterbacks will be studs in the future. Christian Palmer has the best team around him but his health concerns and the presence of Adrian Peterson don’t project him as a great long term option. Blaine Gabbert or Jake Locker would probably be my favorite long term options but with so much change either happening or projected to happen (Jack DelRio should be fired after this season) it’s hard to say what their future’s will look like.
At receiver I love Julio Jones’s situation but the presence of Roddy White will probably stunt his ability to be a top ten receiver for fantasy football in the future. This year he’s listed third on our dynasty rankings and the top receiver to take over A.J. Green of the Bengals.
Most years I would never put a kicker on the list, but I’ve made an exception with Eagles new place kicker Alex Henery this season. Henery finished his career with Nebraska with the highest kicking percentage in NCAA history, and he didn’t do it by just banging out the short field goals. As long as Andy Reid is with the Eagles, Henery could be the next great kicker for more than fifteen years for fantasy football.
As for running backs Mark Clayton heads the pack followed by Daniel Thomas of the Dolphins. As you may have noticed by now I have Colts running back Delone Carter as the fourth option to own. Joseph Addai is a free agent, and the Colts are projected to part ways with former for rounder Donald Brown (major disappointment in their eyes) after this season.
Carter fits the mold of what the Colts look for in a starting running back and should threaten for ten touchdowns in his rookie season. He makes for a respectable runner to own, and he’s worth keeping an eye on.
