Just look to Matt Forte as a player who can benefit from the addition of scoring a point per reception, as he becomes a reliable weekly option as a No.2 running back with this pass catching skills. Forte’s lack of consistency in total yardage and touchdowns, has made him a frustrating running back to own in standard scoring leagues, but with extra points from the passing game, Forte can provide respectable numbers, and that makes him an easy start weekly.
On the flip side of Forte’s added value, you have players like LeGarrette Blount and Michael Turner, who stand to lose value in PPR leagues because they will probably total 15 receptions at best. It won’t hurt you to have a few players who accumulate a low reception total on your squad, but you will want to have at least one receiver who can come close to 100 receptions and a running back that can total over 50 receptions, for a well rounded team.
Throughout the summer, we will be updating our top 200 players for PPR leagues. Come back towards the end of July and just before the third week of the preseason to get an updated listing to help you prepare for your PPR draft this summer.
