2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: While it’s not clear if Asante Samuel will start over DRC in the Eagles All Star trio of corner backs, he won’t be a notable corner to use most of the time for IDP fantasy leagues. Sure, if your in a big play league he is worth a look later in the draft but he will likely be nabbed up by someone in your league that is crazy for the hype of the Eagles revamped defense. In the end, it is advisable to stay away from Samuel as he won’t put up a respectable tackle total to give you respectable production, when he fails to make plays.

I can understand if you feel the need to pickup Asante Samuel for a speculative option against a quarterback that is prone to interceptions, but other than that, Samuel doesn’t hold much value in IDP leagues. In his eight years as a pro, Samuel has only had one respectable season in tackles and that was back in 2006 with the Patriots.
2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
Asante Samuel must be a fan of Vegas because he is probably the biggest gambler in the NFL. Always one to go for a big play, Samuel will create turnovers but sometimes get burned in the process. This makes Samuel a decent Big Play IDP cornerback because he’s always going to make things happen. Still, he’s never been good at racking up a decent tackle total so keep that in mind with this backfield thief.
