2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: While I’m not sure Cortland Finnegan will produce as a top five corner again this season for IDP leagues, don’t be surprised if he has another strong season. Finnegan is in a contract year, and the Titans may be in a worse situation on offense than a year ago. That means the Titans defense should be on the field early and often so the odds of Finnegan returning to at least 80 tackles may be more reasonable that you might think for a corner of his talent. Alterraun Verner may be the more reliable tackle corner on this team, because I’m sure the Peyton Manning’s and Matt Schaub’s of the world would rather test Verner in the passing game.
Still Finnegan is a good player and should be flying around the field, trying to pad his stats for a huge contract on the open market next spring. Look to Finnegan as no lower than a top twelve corner for IDP drafts, in both tackle heavy and big play leagues.
