IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: I hope those of you that had Darrelle Revis as a rookie enjoyed his production in 2007, because that’s possibly the best season your going to see from this dominant corner, in terms of IDP value. Like so many corners that become the games top shutdown options, their best seasons for IDP can be found right off the bat, as quarterbacks grow to fear challenging them in their prime.
If Revis was the type of tackler Charles Woodson was, he might be a worthy addition on draft day because he would make the most of opportunities he would get. Revis shouldn’t be looked to as more than a speculative pickup for big play IDP leagues during the season. That said, I’m sure you will see some first year IDP fantasy owner draft him because he has a big name.
This may be a good time to add that if your looking for top talent young corners to find success for a respectable price, like Revis in his rookie year, look to Patrick Peterson of the Cardinals or Jimmy Smith of the Ravens. Both should start and will be tested by opposing quarterbacks, because they are rookies, and especially because of the lack of work in camps this off-season.
