2012 Experience: Rookie
IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: A knee injury early in camp has sapped Kirkpatrick’s chances of being a top fifteen option at the corner back position. He could still have a strong season, and may get back for sub-package work to start the year, but he’s very unlikely to win a starting job by week one.
In deeper IDP leagues, Kirkpatrick is still worthy targeting as a depth stash if your required to start two at that position.

2012 Spring Fantasy Projection
It helps to snag a rookie corner or two every year because we see a few of them breakout for CB1 value or even DB1 value at times. Perhaps their production won’t translate to a respectable second year in the league, but as a rookie, offenses will pick in even the most talented prospects.
Kirkpatrick should hold CB1 value if he locks down a starting job, and that should happen at some point in training camp. Nate Clements is all washed up (knew that back in his time with San Francisco) and may be released before the season starts. Jump on Kirkpatrick at the end of your draft.
