Eric Berry | Kansas City Chiefs | DB
2013 Experience: 4th Season
IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: Much like Derrick Johnson the Chiefs box score crew does Berry an injustice by being one of the hardest groups to award assisted tackles in the league. It sucks, but for Berry what we really want to see if the big-play numbers that we expect from him coming out of college and he flashed in his rookie season.
Berry started out slow in the first half of last season as he returned form a week one ACL injury in 2011 that cost him that entire season. As the season went along we started to see the player we remembered from the past and while I don’t think he had a Pro Bowl season, he was one anyway.
I’m hoping Berry is ready to emerge as the player we wanted to see a few years ago and have been waiting for since his injury. I will probably have him listed as a DB2 and I’m not sold we will see him play at a top five level but some may take him that high, banking that he’s ready to play at a high level again.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projections
It was a heart breaker to see a great talent like Eric Berry go through a torn ACL and in the first series of the year no less. Because the injury happened so early, I like Berry’s odds of challenging for the most productive defensive back in the league.
Likely to be a long time top five defensive back for IDP purposes; Berry is worthy of one of the early DBs off the board and should have a fine year. Not only is he good for over 100 tackles but his skill set and role in the defense should allow him to make a respectable amount of big plays also.
Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Eric Berry was a highly touted rookie for IDP fantasy owners to draft last summer and while he started a little slow, Berry went on to have a nice year. Totaling just under 100 tackles with four interceptions, two sacks, ten pass deflections and a touchdown, Berry was a clearly a weekly starting option as we moved deeper into the season.
Look for Berry to be as high as a top ten defensive back off the board on draft day this year, as he should continue his progression as one of the games better safeties. I expect Berry to improve on his one forced fumble has he will build on his overall strength and technique as the years continue. This is truly one of the games bright young players and that’s a big reason why the Chiefs selected him so high at the 2010 draft.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
Expectations are high for the Chiefs first round pick strong safety Eric Berry. Berry has it all and he should be a strong IDP option from year one on. Look for Berry as an interesting starter for your IDP team as he should not only make tackles but big plays for the Chiefs.
