Johnathan Joseph
Johnathan Joseph | Houston Texans | Defensive Back
2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: On the move in free agency, Johnathan Joseph was actually the first corner back sign on the open market as Nnamdi Asomugha took his time, before signing with the Eagles. Joseph went with the Texans, and that is great news for Houston as they landed probably the second best corner in the 2011 free agent class.
It will be an interesting year for the Texans and Joseph as the team is switching their scheme over to a 3-4 set. If this team has a chance to make the playoffs it will be essential for Joseph to play good football, but I believe you might want to look at Joseph as a late round selection at best for IDP fantasy leagues. Look for opposing quarterbacks to avoid throwing the football Joseph’s way because it’s easy to pick on others like second-year man Kareem Jackson on the other side. This should hurt Joseph’s tackle numbers, pass deflections and opportunities to make big plays and that means he’s likely not worth having on your team, to start the season.

2011 June
After posting a career year in his first year of starting sixteen games, Johnathan Joseph struggled with a bad ankle injury that cost him four games on the year. Because of his health situation, Joseph wasn’t much of a viable option last year, and he will be looking for a new home as he hits the free agent market.
Joseph is a decent young play-maker but he’s in no way one of the first two corners you should target for your IDP squad. Look to Joseph as a possible waiver wire pickup should he prove to bounce back with this new team.
2010 Preview
Johnathan Joseph and the Bengals defense had a breakout season in 2009 and Joseph should play well this season. Expect another solid year out of Joseph as he is a solid ball hawk, a steady tackler and is very good at pass deflections.
