Morris Claiborne | Dallas Cowboys | DB
2013 Experience: 2nd Season
IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: It was a disappointing season for Claiborne in terms of IDP production in his rookie season. Claiborne started 15 games but only picked up 55 tackles playing opposite Brandon Carr, and he failed to do much in terms of pass deflections and other big-play categories.
But there is hope and it starts with his production in his final three games of last year as he put together 20 tackles, a forced fumble and three pass deflections. It was his best string of games in terms of production and when you add in that Marty Kiffin is coming to town with the Tampa-2 defense, we should like the second-year pro even more.
Corners in this system (think Vikings, Bears, Buccaneers in the past) tend to produce IDP worthy numbers as they lineup closer the line of scrimmage and are asked to handle the outside at times against the run. You need to tackle well and play physical in this defense and I think Claiborne has the skills to produce.
I wouldn’t take him as more than a speculative CB2 but he’s worth keeping an eye on.

2012 IDP Fantasy Projection
Another rookie to take a chance on late as defenses will test this ultra talent in his first year with Brandon Carr playing on the opposite side. In the long run, Morris Claiborne doesn’t figure to be much of a fantasy option, but early on he will likely have value.
