Tramon Williams | Green Bay Packers | Defensive Back
2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: Tramon Williams was a key contributor for the Packers and without him, they probably wouldn’t of made the playoffs, let alone win the Super Bowl. It’s not so much that Williams is a dominant player, but he did have a great year opposite Charles Woodson and quite frankly, the Packers looked to be on the outside looking in on a Wild Card birth at the start of December.
It seemed that Williams had the answer to make a big play for Green Bay when they needed it, and if he can play close to that level again, the Packers defense has a shot to be one of the best in football once again. All that said, Williams can be worthy of adding in IDP leagues, but he won’t have a high tackle total at years end so he’s more dependent on the big plays to have any effectiveness in your lineup.
Traditionally, corners like Williams tend to fall in and out of IDP rosters because they go through stretches of not making the big plays and owners get frustrated with them and go to another option off the waiver wire. While Williams will help the Packers remain successful, he’s at best a depth option on draft day as I wouldn’t look to him as even a No.2 corner.
