IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: It seems like Barrett Ruud was dogged in free agency as he signed for only a one year prove it contract after a down year in Tampa Bay. While Ruud is viewed a more of a linebacker that lets the play come to him kind of linebacker, I think that may have had to do with the Buccaneers scheme as they want their middle linebacker to hang back for pass protection.
For IDP fantasy, Ruud landed in a great situation with the Titans as former starter Stephen Tulloch posted one of the top tackle numbers in the league last season. The Titans should be in much of the same situation as last year so a return to 130 tackles this season could be in sight. I have Ruud as a top twenty linebacker for this season and his projected tackles just under 120. Look to Ruud as a great option for your No.2 linebacker on draft day.

Barrett Ruud had a down year for his standards but I believe he will bounce back to be a dependable No.2 linebacker for this season. Currently a free agent we will have to wait until the lockout end to find out where Ruud will end up.

2010 Preview
The Buccaneers defense struggled last season but middle linebacker Barrett Ruud was still on his game. Now the Buccaneers have added more beef at defensive tackle and are going back to the Tamp 2 defense. Look for Ruud to continue his great play no matter what happens to this defense as a whole.
