IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: If there’s a club for IDP fantasy owners who don’t like Brian Urlacher, sign me up. I was big on Urlacher last season because his value suggested you should jump all over him after he missed essentially the entire 2009 season. With Julius Peppers added to the team and Urlacher benefiting from a years rest, it seemed obvious to me that his only concern was health, and I figured he would last from the extra rest.
Sure enough, Urlacher bounced back for a strong season, but I’m not sold he will do it again. Yes the Bears should still be a decent defense but Urlacher won’t have the luxury of having a full years rest coming into this season, as the Bears played deep into the playoffs. Don’t get me wrong Urlacher should still be viewed as a top twenty linebacker in at least tackle heavy leagues, but there are those IDP owners who just duel over draft Urlacher and that’s where my distaste for him sets in.
If I can get him as a No.2 linebacker this year, I might look for him in tackle heavy leagues, but he’s likely to go as a top ten linebacker because of the bounce back season he had. Personally, I want a younger linebacker like Brian Cushing or Stephen Tulloch as my No.2 option and I suggest you do the same.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
IDP fantasy owners received a blow to their team during the first Sunday night game of the year when Brian Urlacher broke his wrist and was done for the season. Urlacher looks to be fine in his recovery and should be a full go by the time the season starts. If Urlacher should fall some because of his age and last years injury he would be a nice value pickup for your squad.
