June 2011 Outlook
Depending on what happens in free agency, Casey Matthews has a chance to be an IDP sleeper this season. Matthews comes for a well school family in the world of football and that alone has to make you encouraged that he will be around in the NFL for awhile. The expectation for Matthews heading into camps is that he will workout at weak-side linebacker and middle linebacker.
The Eagles may bring in a notable linebacker to start in front of him but if they fail to acquire anyone, this youngster may get a chance to start or at least find his way in because of an injury. Don’t look to Matthews as a viable option right now but he is someone to keep an eye on as we move along in the summer and through the season.
