Chad Greenway | Minnesota Vikings | Strong-side Linebacker

Team Defensive Style: Tampa-2

2011 Experience: 5th Season

IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: With Brian Cushing moving to an inside linebacker position, Chad Greenway stands as the one strong-side linebackers (James Anderson is worth mentioning as well) to target as one of your first two linebackers on your squad. Many players on the Vikings suffered a down season last year, but Greenway seemed to thrive as the defense was on the field longer and he racked up a career high 144 tackles.

With a projected rookie (Christian Ponder) starting at quarterback, and both Pat Williams and Kevin Williams being out for the first month due to suspension, I have no trouble believing Greenway will top 130 tackles again. Greenway is by far the Vikings best tackler, and he has a nose for the football. While Greenway may have the strong-side label on his chest, I have no problem placing him as high as a top ten linebacker for tackle heavy leagues.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook

With all the drama surrounding Brian Cushing and his suspension it is Chad Greenway that should be the top strongside IDP linebacker for 2010. Greenway is a great talent and always seems to rack up a high tackle total for his position. Expect another fine season from the Vikings skilled linebacker.
