2012 Experience: 4th Season
IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: Like the rest of the Packers defensive unit, Clay Matthews seemed to have a bit of a Super Bowl hang over. He was still a solid pass rushing outside linebacker, but not as good as he was the year before.
Hey, playing into the Super Bowl means you have less rest to get ready for the next year and conditioning was a problem for players coming off the lockout, so maybe it affected Matthews.
Matthews is scheduled to flip over to the other side of the field as rookie Nick Perry will take over his old spot. Unless you’re in a big-play league, target Matthews as a reserve option only.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
For all the success Clay Matthews had as a rookie his second season legitimized him as one of the games top pass rushers. His 13.5 sacks on the season were impressive but from an IDP perspective I was happy to see he improved on his overall tackles and specifically his 54 solo tackles.
The Packers are set to have another strong season and that means Matthews will have plenty of opportunities to wear out opposing quarterbacks when the team rolls up a lead in the first three quarters of a game. Look to Matthews as on of the more reliable sack artists for big play IDP leagues.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
The Mathews family has a rich history for NFL success and Clay Matthews Jr didn’t let down his elders as he posted a strong rookie season. Not only did Matthews have good numbers but he made those plays when it counted. Like many outside linebackers, Matthews is better suited for Big Play IDP leagues because he doesn’t rack up lots of tackles.
