DeMarcus Ware | Dallas Cowboys | Outside Linebacker

Team Defensive Style: 3-4

2011 Experience: 7th Season

IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: The Cowboys overall had a bad season, but you wouldn’t know it if you looked at DeMarcus Ware’s stats. For the second time in Ware’s career, he went over 15 sacks for the season and provided a respectable 66 tackles for an outside linebacker. Ware is at the peak of his career and at age 29, there’s no reason to believe he will slow down any time soon.

Heck if it wasn’t for Ware being carted off with his neck injury in 2009, he would probably have at least 14 sacks in each of his past four seasons, and he will do that once again in 2011. Ware has value in tackle heavy leagues just make sure he’s getting fair point value (let’s say four points a sack) to make him an option worth having if you start three linebacker in those scoring leagues. For big play IDP leagues, Ware is an obvious choice to draft, as he will probably lead the NFL in sacks once again.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook

If DeMarcus Ware can stay healthy over his career than he should have a good shot at being one of the greatest sack men of all time. Last year Ware posted eleven and that was his second worst amount for a season in his career. Expect Ware to have around 15 sacks in any season and be a good linebacker for Big Play IDP leagues.
