2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: Geno Hayes failed to build on his second season when he totaled 98 tackles in 15 games. Perhaps part of the reason for Hayes drop in production had to do with the offense playing much better and thus the defense wasn’t on the field as much. Whatever the problems, don’t look to Hayes as an option you want to draft as a starter this summer because he’s not worth it.
Hayes could find his way into IDP starting lineups during the season but your better off looking to more productive options with better value than looking to Hayes as anything more than a bench option. If Barrett Ruud does leave and the Buccaneers fail to bring in a respectable veteran in the middle, I can understand if you like him as a potential bounce back player, but please don’t view him as a No.2 linebacker for 12 team leagues, like I’ve seen him ranked in various magazines / sites this summer.

Geno Hayes became an IDP relevant option as he stepped into a starting role for the Buccaneers last season. The talented young weak-side linebacker should enjoy another solid season and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he goes for over 100 tackles this season.
