IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: I can understand if your hesitant on drafting an impact outside linebacker if you’re worried about them being a reliable option for tackles but James Harrison is just a special star. Last year Harrison racked up his first 100 tackle season but has had at least 79 tackles, 8.5 sacks and five forced fumbles in each of the past four seasons. It’s also a fact that he’s never failed to deliver lower than those numbers in any given season, he’s been a full time starter because he’s only been a full time player for the past four seasons.
Yes, it took Harrison a couple of seasons and being cut a few times before he was ready to get his career going, but he is clearly a worthy top twenty option in even tackle heavy leagues because he’s a rare big play linebacker who can rack up a respectable amount of tackles. Some IDP owners just can’t pull the trigger on a guy like this in a tackle heavy league, and I can respect that, but at the same time, I won’t be the one advising you not to go for him as an early No.2 option.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
No one should have been surprised that James Harrison didn’t have the same stats he posted in 2008. That was clearly a career year for Harrison and if you spent to high on acquiring him you were probably disappointed in his production. Harrison may be giving way to Lamarr Woodley as the top outside linebacker for the Steelers but he is still a good linebacker to have around on your IDP squad.
