James-Michael Johnson | Cleveland Browns | LB
2012 Experience: Rookie
IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: I love James-Michael Johnson’s dynasty prospects because of the possible unseating of D’Qwell Jackson in the future. With Jackson out of the lineup because of a back injury in OTAs, we saw Johnson play with the first team in the middle and get valuable practice time.
If this trend continues, consider it a clue that the Browns are telling you they will move Johnson over from the weakside to the middle if something should happen to Jackson. We’ve seen Jackson miss significant time in the past, and yet when he’s healthy, he’s a top five linebacker in this scheme.
Maybe Johnson won’t be that good, but he’s a lock for LB2 consideration if Jackson should miss time, and he does take over in the middle.
