Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

The Dolphins moved on from Channing Crowder for what looks to be a better fit opposite Karlos Dansby in former Chargers starting inside linebacker Kevin Burnett. Look for Burnett to continue to stay as a depth option for deep IDP squads as he is a capable option to use in spots and could flash enough productivity in Miami to be a starting No.3 linebacker if you play in big play leagues as he can provide the occasional sack.

It looks like the Chargers are expected to make re-signing Kevin Burnett a priority this off-season and that means he would continue to be a full time starter. Burnett can be a useful option but I wouldn’t look to him as more than a depth option in ten team leagues, and possibly a No.3 linebacker in 12 team leagues. Burnett just doesn’t seem to give the consistent tackle numbers I would like to see from an inside linebacker to make me trust him on a regular basis.
