Lavonte David | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | LB
2013 Experience: 2nd Season
Fantasy Football Outlook: This will be an interesting season for David as the second-year pro brokeout for big numbers as a rookie. That said, the Buccaneers defense figures to be improved in the secondary so I’m not sure he will see the same amount of opportunities he had on a bad pass defensive team a year ago.
They may use him a little more via the blitz because pass rush will be important for the Buccaneers and they may have to find some creative ways to get to the quarterback if the front line isn’t up to the challenge in front of them.
I still believe David is no lower than a low-end LB1 coming into summer redrafts but don’t assume he will improve on the numbers he had last year.

2012 IDP Fantasy Projection
Lavonte David will be a worthy backup out of the gates, but his upside will eventually be capped by playing on the weakside. Then again, if Mason Foster continues to struggle in the middle we could see David and fellow rookie safety Mark Barron benefit thus upping their value.
David is probably the safest linebacker to select in rookie dynasty drafts after Luke Kuechly but other linebackers like Mychal Kendricks, Bobby Wagner, Don’ta Hightower have better upside in the long run.
