2012 Experience: 3rd Season
Fantasy Football Outlook: If Mike Singletary knows anything is the freaking inside linebacker position as he helped coach Patrick Willis up from his rookie year, and drafted NaVorro Bowman. While Bowman didn’t make an impact in his rookie year (stuck behind Takeo Spikes) he was terrific in his second year and has a promising future.
For all the love we give to Willis; Bowman isn’t that far behind on the field and in IDP leagues. Both are LB1 selections as they will stay on the field on all three downs, and play at a high level.
Could be wrong, but if memory serves me correctly, Bowman was the linebacker that hit Glen Coffee so hard, the second-year vet retired the next day.
No surprise, Bowman comes from Penn State and while that university is going through some extremely difficult times, no one can deny the history of talent that has come from that school at the linebacker position.
Expect another great season from Bowman and don’t worry about Willis playing next to him. The two players who will suffer are the safeties DaShon Goldson and Donte Whitner, not Bowman.
