2012 Experience: 3rd Season

Fantasy Football Outlook: Set up for another big year, Angerer unfortunately broke his foot in the preseason and is projected to be out for six weeks. As we saw with Darren McFadden last year, foot injuries can take some time to recover from and we should anticipate Angerer missing more than his projected time.

As of now, he’s nothing more than a late round stash that you can slide onto your IR and hope he returns by some point in October or early November. Look to Kavell Conner as the top linebacker to select in tackle heavy leagues from this team.

2012, May: IDP Fantasy Projections

If you had to judge IDP value based on skill Pat Angerer would be down the list. Thankfully, for his IDP value that isn’t the case, as Angerer will have a tone of opportunity, in a horrible defense.

The Colts are switching schemes this year to a 3-4 base, and Angerer could see games where he totals over 15 total tackles or more. As long has he can hold up, the opportunity is there for up to 140 tackles this year.

Unfortunately he’s not one of the better big-play linebackers, and even if he does reach 140 tackles; we shouldn’t expect more than 80 solos. Look to Angerer as a quality LB2 that will give you consistency throughout the year, which is a positive in itself.
