Tamba Hali | Kansas City Chiefs | Outside Linebacker
Team Defensive Style: 3-4
2011 Experience: 6th Season
IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: Tamba Hali was a favorite of mine to breakout for big play IDP leagues, and he did just that with 14.5 sacks on the season, wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks. Hali has truly become one of the premier pass rushers in the game, and he’s not going away. A few yeas ago Hali had to make the transition from the defensive line to linebacker, but it’s clear that he’s truly a better sack artist from his new position.
Because Hali fails to rack up a respectable amount of tackles (usually a problem for outside linebackers) he’s really just an every week starter for big play IDP leagues as your rewarded with more points for his sacks and disruption, while tackle artists like Patrick Willis see a reduction in value from tackle heavy leagues.
While sacks can always be a streaky stats in the game, Hali had decent consistency with ten games of at least half a sack or more on the season, and he even picked up his tackle numbers late with at least four tackles in four of his final six games. The Chiefs should be a competitive team that is likely to play with a lead and head back to the playoffs, so expect Hali to have plenty of opportunities for another 12 plus sack season, in what should be another Pro Bowl type performance.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
Tamba Hali adjusted well to play linebacker after spending the early years of his career as a defensive end. For the season Hali was the Chiefs to disruptor as he totaled 8.5 sacks and offenses paid attention to him all game long. Look for Hali to improve this year and be a good Big Play IDP linebacker for your team.
