Da’Quan Bowers | Defensive Lineman
2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: What a shame it is that Da’Quan Bowers has a knee ailment that many seem to believe will cut his career short. Who knows if that will actually be the case but Bowers fell from an early year, projected first overall pick to fall to the Buccaneers in the middle of the second round. Bowers didn’t seem to have problems during his final year with Clemson as he finished second on the team in tackles with 63 and totaled just over 15 sacks on the season.
It looks like Bowers will be ready to practice with the team when the lockout ends and I’m hopeful he can make an impact for IDP fantasy football leagues at some point this season. The Buccaneers still run the Tampa-2 defense, and that means Bowers will get opportunities to sack the quarterback. The main problem for Bowers (other than getting his health back) is that he won’t be an every down lineman in year one.
Maybe Bowers isn’t worth a first round pick in IDP Dynasty leagues, but he is worth rolling the dice on, but if you have the depth to stash him, he could be a great IDP lineman if his knee recovers. Good luck Bowers, I hope you get healthy and then land a huge deal when your rookie contract ends.
