Kevin Williams
Kevin Williams | Minnesota Vikings | Defensive Tackle
2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: Kevin Williams has had some huge seasons for a defensive tackle but his regression in tackles in 2009 should have been a sign that his 2008 numbers weren’t going to be the norm, going forward. Not only did Williams fail to hit 40 tackles last season, but he only posted one sack, which was clearly a career low for him.
This was a disappointing year for a player whom many viewed as the top option to select from the tackle position in IDP drafts for the past few seasons. Now, Williams is going to miss the first four games of the season because he’s finally going to serve time for his losing the StarCaps case. I’m curious to see how Kevin and his partner in crime Pat Williams (should be back) play after they get the first month off as it should provide them both with fresh legs for the final three months of the season.
If you are a Williams fan that you might want to stash Williams on your depth chart, but he’s obviously not worth drafting as a starter because of the lost time. If he lands on your waiver wire, he’s worth a pickup after the first couple weeks of the season.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
Kevin Williams didn’t produce the tackle numbers he had in 2008, but he was still a solid defensive tackle for IDP. This is why many still have Williams ranked as the top defensive tackle to select at IDP fantasy football draft for this season. It looks like the courts have given the Williams Wall another year before they determine the Star Caps situation so Williams shouldn’t be suspended. Williams is a better player in Big Play IDP leagues, but he is still strong for tackle heavy leagues.
