2013 Experience: 5th Season

Fantasy Football Outlook: The Buccaneers decision to let Bennett walk when he only commanded a one-year deal for under five million dollars has been an interesting topic this off-season. The Seahawks picked up a solid pass-rusher and a blue-collar type of guy.

Tampa Bay on the other hand, is counting on two guys with injury problems in their past to apply pressure this season.

I like Bennett and he should be a three down player and probably the top lineman to draft for IDP purposes off of this team, even-though Cliff Avril will likely go first. Avril may end up with more sacks but Bennett will have more tackles and I believe he can get to double digit sacks in this defense.

The Seahawks will play with a lead, will have a terrific home-field advantage, and they have the top secondary in football so you know coverage sack opportunities will be there. You can get Bennett as a DL3 but he’s really a DL2 in my mind.

2012 IDP Fantasy Projection

Michael Bennett proved his worth last year as an option to consider as a depth lineman. Probably no higher than a DL4 this year, Bennett is a serviceable backup that plays well against the run, and can sprinkle in some sacks throughout the year.
