2013 Experience: 5th Season

IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: The Bengals used the franchise tag on Johnson to retain him for another year. Not sure he will stay with the team after this year as they selected Margus Hunt in the draft, but Johnson is set up for a career year.

Johnson had a great year in 2012, and with Geno Atkins and others on the front line around to take attention away from Johnson he could have an even better year in 2013. I have his numbers down just slightly from last year in his projected stats, but consider those numbers more a conservative outlook.

We should look to Johnson as a low-end DL1 or early DL2 option.

2013 IDP Fantasy Projection

Michael Johnson put himself on the map last year, and should continue to be a worthy matchup play in IDP leagues. Likely to see a reduction in snaps this year, Johnson will still make some plays off the edge, and if newly added backups Jamaal Anderson or Derek Harvey struggle; we would see more of Johnson.

Look to Johnson as a low end DL3 but it would be best to grab him as a DL4 in a backup role.
