Robert Mathis | Indianapolis Colts | Defensive Lineman
2011 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook: While Dwight Freeney gets most of the credit as the top man in the Colts pass rush, it’s Robert Mathis that is the defensive lineman you want off this team. Both Mathis and Freeney are around double digit producers for sacks every year but Mathis is the one that can give you respectable tackle numbers to go with it.
His 60 tackles from a year ago made him a top ten scorer on the defensive line in most IDP fantasy leagues. While I’m not going to project a return to those tackle numbers this season, it is reasonable to believe he can at least get you around 45 in a season. This makes him at least a top twenty option in all IDP leagues.

2010 IDP Fantasy Football Outlook
Robert Mathis continued his great career with another Pro Bowl like effort in 2009. The speedy pass rusher just keeps on coming throughout each game, and it seems like a let down if he has a game with no sack on the quarterback. Because of the emergence of the Colts defensive tackles last year Mathis went back down to tackle total in the thirties. It will be a key for him to play the full season if he is going to remain a solid option in tackle heavy leagues. In Big Play IDP leagues Mathis is still a strong option as every year.
