Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

Josh Scobee actually had a decent season last year but still remains as just an option to use for short stretches when the Jaguars play teams they can take advantage of. This team is average and Scobee skills can best be summed up as average as well. Don’t look to Scobee as a starter on your team in summer drafts.

2010 Preview

Josh Scobee didn’t have a good season in 2009 as he missed ten of his 28 field goal opportunities. In Scobee’s defense, half of his misses were from over 50 yards out so it’s not like they were gimme field goals. Still, No. 10 is a better kicker than that, and he should bounce back.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: The Jaguars aren’t the richest of teams and maybe that’s why they don’t want to part ways with Josh Scobee after his bad performance last season. For the year Scobee was a horrible 18 of 28 on his field goal opportunities.

To his credit Scobee did make eight of his final ten chances on the season ( was 12 of 20 at one point) and this could also explain why the team feels good with Scobee on the team. In all fairness five of his missed opportunities were from 50 plus so maybe his numbers weren’t as bad as the score card would suggest.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even if Scobee has found his stride again, he’s not worth drafting as your fantasy kicker this season. At the same time, Scobee has made four attempts from 50 plus each of the past two seasons and that is encouraging.

The Jaguars are still a competitive team and if David Garrard is having a good year than Scobee could have some value. Keep an eye on Scobee if the Jaguars come out of the gates with a hot start.
