2012 Experience: 9th season

Fantasy Football Outlook: While the Giants are a high-scoring offense, Lawrence Tynes simply doesn’t see enough attempts to be a regular starter in fantasy leagues. His odds of increasing his chances would likely fall on whether the Giants defense can play better football, as it would allow the Giants to roll up a lead and bang threw field goals in the second half of games, rather than having to score touchdowns to win at the end. Don’t look to Tynes as a draft-worthy option unless you play in leagues beyond 14 teams.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

Outside of having three “cleanup” operations in the off-season, Lawrence Tynes has no signs that should make fantasy owners not believe he can help their team this season. The Giants will continue to be a productive offense and probably fight for a Wild Card spot. Look to Tynes as a top fifteen option and if you feel he’s the right man for your squad, jump on him in the late rounds.

2010 Preview

Lawrence Tynes had himself a good year in 2009 but that didn’t stop the team from trying out Nick Folk. While the team didn’t sign the former Cowboys’ kicker it does show that Tynes had best keep kicking well in order to keep his job.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Lawrence Tynes isn’t the most appealing kicker of all time, but he’s on a solid team that provides him a good volume of pat’s and field goal opportunities. While other kickers have better talent, they may not be in a situation like Tynes is in and that makes a big difference for fantasy.

For the season Tynes posted respectable numbers as he was 27 of 32 in field goal conversions, and he also punched in 45 pat’s.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Tynes won’t blow you away with a bunch of long field goal opportunities but he should give you a steady amount of scoring production (as far as kickers go) this season. In the end, that is probably what most fantasy owners hope to get from their spare tire of the team anyway.

Now, all we need to know is how the Giants new Stadium will fare for kickers as it may help Tynes or hurt him. Unfortunately, we won’t really know that until a full season has played.
