Mason Crosby | Green Bay Packers | K
2013 Experience: 7th season
Fantasy Football Outlook: Mason Crosby has the leg strength to be one of the better kickers in fantasy football. Unfortunately, the Packers tend to convert most of their scoring drives into touchdowns, and Crosby has struggled mightily with accuracy problems.
While Head Coach Mike McCarthy has publicly backed Crosby over the years, it appears we could see Crosby in a competition for his job. It’s advisable to stay away from Crosby on draft day and grab someone like Blair Walsh who has elite upside.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Mason Crosby re-upped with the Packers after free agency started and will be a possible top five kicker off the board in fantasy leagues this summer. While Crosby suffers from consistency issues, he has one of the bigger legs in football and plays with one of the best offenses in the game.

While Mason Crosby is officially expected to be a free agent when the lockout ends, he is likely headed back to the Packers as they are making it a priority to re-sign him. Staying with the Packers makes Crosby a continued candidate to be a top five kicker in fantasy football leagues. Sure, Crosby can have his accuracy problems, but that doesn’t seem to detur his Head Coach from losing faith in putting him out on the field for long range opportunities.
If an Indian Tribe had to give Mason Crosby a name it would have to be, “Big leg, little accuracy.” At times Crosby can make you awe struck with his big leg, and then he goes and boinks a routine field goal. Hopefully, the talented kicker can turn things around as the press seemed to be calling for his head last year.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Mason Crosby could be the best fantasy kicker around if he could combined accuracy with his power. Because of Crosby’s gifted leg, the Packers have backed him through his struggles as he was only 6 of 13 from 40 plus last year.
Still, Crosby did manage to convert 27 of his field goal attempts and had 48 pat’s and that makes him a productive kicker for fantasy football.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I still have faith that Crosby can at least return to his rookie numbers when he blasted 12 conversions from over 40 yards out. Three of those were from 50 plus as he broke out big time.
Crosby still seems to get a respectable amount of opportunities from 50 plus as he’s had no less than five chances throughout his three seasons in the NFL. For fantasy owners that get extra points for the distance on a field goal, Crosby is always an appealing player.
Sadly, if Crosby continues his kicking problems he could fall out of favor like Nick Folk did in Dallas last season.
– Big Leg
– Great Offense
– Decent Volume Of 50 Plus Opportunities
