Nate Kaeding | San Diego Chargers | K
2012 Experience: 9th season
Fantasy Football Outlook: If not for a late-season slide from replacement Nick Novak, veteran Nick Kaeding might have found himself looking for a new team, because of money, and that he’s coming of an ACL injury. Kaeding has had a career of ups and downs, and the start of the 2011 season had to be one of the more bizarre injuries I’ve ever seen as Kaeding tore his ACL on the open kickoff of the season.
That said, as of January Kaeding’s rehab was ahead of schedule and should he return to his normal production, he will be a top ten fantasy kicker this year. Because he’s coming off a knee injury, and the Chargers had a bad season, Kaeding should come at an even cheaper price than in years past, on draft day.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Coming into last season I was concerned about Nate Kaeding’s mental health as he butchered another opportunity to execute for his team in the playoffs. While Kaeding was reportedly having trouble dealing with his past playoff failures, his regular season production remained fine. Look to Kaeding as a top three option for fantasy leagues as the Chargers are going to put up a bunch of points and Kaeding will be a reliable option once again.

One of the worst things a kicker can have happen to him is he lets a miss or two get in his head. Nate Kaeding was having his finest season in the NFL last year until he missed three field goal attempts in a playoff game. Hopefully, Kaeding can get that bad taste out of his mouth and return to his strong play from the regular season.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Nate Kaeding had his first big season in awhile as he topped over 30 field goal conversions and 9 of them were from 40+. This was the kind of season fantasy owners would figure a talent like Kaeding could provide every year in the offense, and weather he plays in.
Unfortunately his great success was meet with a horrible finish to the season as the team lost to the Jets in the playoffs. Kaeding missed field goals left and right and you could tell his past playoff failure (against the Jets) was in the back of his mind.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Hopefully, Kaeding can get over his demons that have cost him to miss easy playoff field goals, and he’s ready to produce for fantasy owners. This should be another strong season as LT is gone and the team will probably use Kaeding as much as last season.
– Big Leg
– Great Offense / Team
– Perfect Weather
– Missed Field Goals Could Haunt Him
– Needs To Put Another 30 Plus Conversion Season Together
