2012 Experience: 8th season

Fantasy Football Outlook: Another solid season for Robbie Gould in 2011 as he converted 28 field goals. While it drives me nuts that he plays in the windy city, you can argue with his body of work over the years, and he’s worthy of being a low end starting fantasy kicker in ten team leagues.

Chicago has added more weapons on offense with the additions of Brandon Marshall, Evan Rodriguez, Alshon Jeffery and Michael Bush and with those upgrades, Gould could have an even better year.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

Robbie Gould remains a dependable kicker for the Bears and for fantasy owners that are looking for a steady option. Sadly Gould could be more for fantasy football is he played in a place that wasn’t so problematic in terms of high winds and bad weather in the winter. Still, Gould is worthy of being on fantasy rosters as the Bears should be a competitive team and Gould will get regular opportunities.

2010 Preview

Robbie Gould would be one of my favorite fantasy kickers if it weren’t for the fact that he plays in the windy city. Gould has all the ability to be a solid fantasy kicker for your team but in a city with swirling winds and bad weather in December, it’s hard to get long distance opportunities. That said, if Julius Peppers revitalizes the defense, Gould should have a strong season in spite of his weather challenges.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Robbie Gould is probably one of the more underrated kickers in the NFL. Gould isn’t flashy but he is accurate, and he seems to make the clutch kicks when the opportunities arise. Unfortunately Gould plays in the windy city of Chicago, and I cringe at the thought of playing a kicker from that area regularly.

Still, Gould was worth having on a fantasy team last year as he converted 24 of his 28 opportunities, and he even bang out two conversions from 50 plus.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Bears should move the football this season but the question is in which direction will the football be going. When Jay Cutler is having a good stretch, Gould should be a viable fantasy option but when Cutler is down and throwing a bunch of interceptions this team will play from behind.

Overall Gould is a talented kicker but his situation isn’t the greatest and that is why it’s hard to count on him weekly. If you normally hold onto two fantasy kickers in your league, Gould is a good one to have.
