Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

A free agent this off-season, the Vikings wisely re-upped with Ryan Longwell on a new deal. With Donovan McNabb starting at quarterback, Longwell has a chance to be a start worthy option at kicker this season, but I wouldn’t draft him that way in the summer. Keep an eye on Minnesota’s situation in the first month of the year, and if they are playing competitive football, and McNabb looks good, Longwell should be a respectable waiver wire addition.

It looks like Ryan Longwell’s time is up with the Vikings but it’s not because he’s failed to produce on the field as he’s posted a 92 percent or better average over the past two seasons. Assuming Longwell can go to a team with a productive offense he can still be worth using in fantasy leagues.

2010 Preview

Ryan Longwell should have a productive fantasy season, even if Brett Favre stays retired. With a great defense and a solid offense, Longwell will receive opportunities every week.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Ryan Longwell had another solid fantasy season as he posted consistent numbers throughout the year. Unfortunately, his 50 plus opportunities went down as the team could convert more drives into touchdowns with Brett Favre on the team.

Still, Longwell did convert 26 opportunities and he had 54 pat’s on the season.
