2012 Experience: 4th season

Fantasy Football Outlook: Thus far, Ryan Succop has been a dependable NFL kicker, but the Chiefs really haven’t let him cut it loose often in his career, and they will need to vastly improve, from 2011, before he’s worth holding in fantasy leagues. That could happen with upgrades on the offensive line, more weapons in the passing game, and the addition of Peyton Hillis to rotate with Jamaal Charles, so as we move through September, keep an eye on Succop’s production.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

Maybe Ryan Succop hasn’t been worth using in fantasy lineups, in his first two seasons but he has the skills that make me believe he can be relevant at some point. This young kickers main problem is that the Chiefs have been an offense in development but there are signs that suggest, Succop is ready to be a top ten fantasy kicker.Matt Cassel and Dwayne Bowe had a big second half, and the team added another play-maker in the draft with Jonathan Baldwin in the first round. Throw in Dexter McCluster and tight end Tony Moeaki and you have a nice receiving core for added offensive production. When it comes to the running game, Jamaal Charles is one of the top runners in the game and Thomas Jones gives this team stability behind him.

Add it all up and this offense is much more potent that it was when Succop came to Kansas City in 2009 as Mr. Irrelevant. Look to Succop as a late round starter at kicker to ten to twelve team leagues, and he should be on the waiver wire in most leagues if he starts breaking out, in the season.

2010 Preview

Ryan Succop may be Mr. Irrelevant (last pick at the NFL draft) but his rookie year in the NFL was anything but irrelevant. Succop showed us all that he has a very strong leg, and he also proved he could win a big game at the end, with his field goal against the Steelers. Expect good things in the future for this young kicker.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Ryan Succop began his career as the final draft pick selected at the 2009 NFL draft. This selection is jokingly called Mr. Irrelevant but Succop was anything but irrelevant in his rookie season with the Chiefs.

Succop showed us all that he’s not only accurate as he made 25 of his 29 field goal (3 of the failed attempts being from 50 plus) opportunities, but he had a good sized leg as well. With two conversions from 50 plus and five opportunities overall it shows fantasy owners that his coaches aren’t afraid to give him long range chances.

This makes Succop and interesting name for future fantasy season as he looks to be a potential top ten fantasy kicker in years to come.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The Chiefs have made it a big point this offseason to get strong on offense. With additions of Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster this group has a chance to move the ball regularly. It also doesn’t hurt that the Chiefs have the easiest schedule to run the football against.

These key notes should only help Succop as he looks ready to be a fantasy starting kicker in many leagues by years end. Succop may not be selected on draft day because of the team he’s on, and that he hasn’t been around long but he should produce solid for your team.

– Accurate

– Strong Leg

– Improving Offense

– Favorable Schedule For Offense

– Needs To Prove Last Year Wasn’t A Fluke

– Better Accuracy From 50 Plus
