Fantasy Football Outlook: While we had a few rookies breakout last year with big legs like Greg Zuerlien, Blair Walsh and Justin Tucker, veteran Sebastian Janikowski is still one of the best long distance kickers in the game.
Problem is, the Raiders are likely to continue to struggle as a team in 2013 and with the loss of Carson Palmer, we shouldn’t expect the offense to setup Janikowski for field goal opportunities with regularity.
Still, it’s hard to view Janikowski as anything less than a top ten fantasy kicker if your in a league that awards extra points for field goals over 40 yards.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
No one has a bigger leg than Sebastian Janikowski as he’s been finally making those opportunities from around 60 yards out over the past few seasons. The Raiders helped Janikowski become the top kicker to own last year in fantasy football as he was killer down the stretch as the Raiders went undefeated in their division.I’m not sold that the Raiders will find the same success this year, with key players leaving in free agency, but Janikowski is worthy of your consideration as the top kicker to take in fantasy leagues.

2010 Preview
Let’s face it, Sebastian Janikowski by far has the strongest leg in the NFL. Not only that but in the past few seasons his accuracy has been darn good as well. This is why Al Davis made him the highest paid kicker in football, and I would have done the same thing. All Janikowski needs now is for the Raiders to start playing respectable football, and he will be one of the better fantasy kickers to have. Expect the Raiders to use their talented kicker at will this season.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Sebastian Janikowski has always had a big leg and that is why the Raiders made him a first round pick coming out of Florida State. Janikowski’s problem throughout his early years was consistency as he would miss on field goals he should have made.

After the 2009 season, we can safely say that Janikowski doesn’t have problems with consistency as he was 26 of 29 last year and two of those misses being from 50 plus. Janikowski still showed off his big leg when he booted a 61-yard field goal in Cleveland in December.
The problem for Janikowski’s fantasy value is that the Raiders’ offense doesn’t give him many opportunities for pat’s as he posted only 17 for all of last year.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Janikowski is a clear top ten fantasy kicker this year and one of our favorite sleepers at this position to have a good overall campaign in the kicking game. The Raiders have improved at quarterback and on the offensive line.
Not only have the Raiders improved on the offensive side of the football but their defense is ready to rock and roll. With key additions on the defensive line and in the line backing core, this group should be much stouter against the run. This will help give their offense more opportunities to score and keep them in football games longer.
That is all Janikowski needs as he has full confidence from Coach Tom Cable to boot the long ball from as far as over 60 yards!
You can’t say that about any other kicker in the NFL so just for that Janikowski is worth paying attention to. If you get added points in your fantasy league for the distance of a field goal, Sebas has added value in those leagues as well.
