2012 Experience: 7th season
Fantasy Football Outlook: One of the more consistent top ten fantasy kickers over the years, Stephen Gostkowski won’t be the top-scoring fantasy option at his position in any year, but he should be one of the top five to go off the board, every summer. The Patriots are going to put up a bunch of offense and while Gostkowski likely won’t reach 30 field-goal conversions, he will be close and should have around 60 pat’s. Consistency from week to week makes it a no-brainer to stick this guy in as your starter and work on other areas of your team.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Many fantasy sites have had Stephen Gostkowski as one of the top five kickers to draft in all leagues, but last season a nasty quad injury cost Gostkowski the second half of the season. As we head into the summer, Gostkowski is doing well and should be fine to resume his role as the Patriots main place kicker. While Gostkowski should have a good season, I would caution fantasy owners that his recovery may limit the team from wanting to use him for long field goals if he shows signs of fatigue. While I can’t rank justify ranking Gostkowski out of the top ten kickers, he is a small health risk coming into summer drafts.

2010 Preview
I might take flack for this but Stephen Gostkowski is the most overrated fantasy kicker in the past decade. Don’t get me wrong he’s not that bad of a kicker, but I can’t tell you how many fantasy books I open every summer and this guy is either the top ranked or second on the list. For my money, I would take Rob Bironas ten times over this bad weather kicker.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Stephen Gostkowski was the main player that profited off of Tom Brady’s injury in 2008 with 36 field goal conversions. Unfortunately for Gostkowski, Brady came back and healthy as he saw his conversions fall back in the twenties.
With Brady leading the charge the Patriots are a better team and convert more drives into touchdowns. While this is good for most it’s not for Gostkowski’s fantasy value.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Gostkowski doesn’t have the biggest leg in the NFL, but he is a reliable fantasy kicker because of the team he’s on. While his conversions will probably stay below thirty this season he can give you steady points every week.
If you’re in a league that gives inflated points for 50 plus field goals, Gostkowski has less value as he’s only converted four from that distance in his four year career. On a positive note, two of those were last season so maybe the coaching staff is starting to trust his range.
