David Garrard
2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: As long as the Jaguars are in playoff contention David Garrard will be the teams starting quarterback despite the fact they choose Blaine Gabbert as the tenth overall pick. Garrard hasn’t led his team to the playoffs in a few seasons but his overall numbers are respectable, and it’s not like Mike Sims-Walker did much to help him in 2010.
Garrard is at best a backup quarterback for fantasy football and if the league has a shortened season, teams won’t have bye weeks scheduled so fantasy owners won’t need a player like Garrard for a one week pickup.

2010 Preview
David Garrard got a new No.1 target but it wasn’t the player, I expected it to be in the offseason. Torry Holt seemed like a good fit for the Jags but we all soon realized that his knee was officially shot, and he is not the player he once was. Mike Sims-Walker, on the other hand, had a great year, and hopefully he can stay healthy this upcoming season as the top receiver in Jacksonville.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: For all the flack David Garrard seems to take, he did throw for almost 3, 600 yards with a very average passing game to work with. Sure Maurice Jones-Drew is a stud and Mike Sims-Walker broke out but after Walker, he really didn’t have anyone else.
The team brought in Torry Holt last offseason but he was a bust as he didn’t even post one touchdown reception for the season. With this kind of group around Garrard it’s no wonder he only threw for 15 touchdowns on the season.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Speculation had it that the Jaguars were looking for another quarterback to compete with Garrard this offseason. Many felt the team would go after Tim Tebow as he would bring in much needed sales to the team.
In the end, the team decided against bringing anyone in and that is probably the best thing they could have done for this position. It would have been nice to see them get an upgrade for Garrard in the passing game but hopefully his young receivers can step up and perform.
Garrard isn’t worth drafting for fantasy football this summer as he needs more proven talent in the passing game than just Mike Sims-Walker.
