Fantasy Football Outlook: For those of you in deep leagues, Joe Webb is an interesting name to keep an eye on. Webb has flashed fantasy production in his first two years, and while he may never develop into a quality pocket passer, his running ability has put him on the fantasy radar.
Because he’s a bit raw, Webb will likely be passed for Chirstian Ponder as the starter, but Ponder has a history of health problems dating back to his time in college, making it likely Webb will see action, at some point.
If and when finds the field Webb can be a useful starter in deep leagues, especially those that are friendly towards running quarterbacks, and four-point touchdown pass leagues.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
The Vikings tried moving Joe Webb to receiver last year but in the end, he was starting games for the Vikings and led them to an impressive win against the Eagles in Philadelphia. Webb has terrific running ability but is clearly a work in progress to become a full time pro starting quarterback.
While I think Webb is an interesting player for the future, it will be interesting to see how he holds up against rookie Cristian Ponder in the pre-season as the two will duke it out for the starting job if the team fails to acquire a veteran in free agency. It looks like Webb and Ponder will be working out together this off-season, and that should be good for both, but it will be difficult to find success without the normal coaching these players sorely need.
