John Skelton | Arizona Cardinals | QB
2012 Experience: 3rd Season

Fantasy Football Outlook: Like the Cardinals draft pick Ryan Lindley, John Skelton came into the league as a big-armed, developmental project.
In his rookie year, Skelton showed flashes of success in a game against the Cowboys, where he led them to a victory. Getting the football to his main target Larry Fitzgerald hasn’t seemed to be a problem in his first two years, and while I didn’t think much of him in the past, I’m starting to be a fan.
No, Skelton probably will never develop into a weekly option in fantasy leagues, but then again with the addition of Michael Floyd; the Cardinals have one of the top pair of receivers in the game.
Expect Kevin Kolb to win the job, unless we hear that Skelton has really stepped up his game this offseason. I like Skelton as the quarterback to win the job in the end, and at some point this year he will take over, because of ineffective play, or injury from Kolb.
Still, the Cardinals offensive line is horrible in pass protection, and Skelton will have to do a better job in his presnap reads and finding his hot receiver.
This is of greater importance when you factor in they play the 49ers and Seahawks twice a year. Even the Rams are a good pass rush defense, and they’ve upgraded at corner with Cortland Finnegan and Janoris Jenkins.
While I will be routing for Skelton (except when he plays my 49ers, of course), he’s going to need that big frame of his to hold up, as he will likely take punishment. Look to Skelton as a nice stash in dynasty leagues, because of the upside with this receivers.
