2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: With Ahmad Bradshaw back in New York, Brandon Jacobs figures to be an active backup once again. Jacobs had a slow start to the season, but came on strong in the second half, moving his yard per carry average back over five yards and his touchodwn total up to nine on the season.
Still a top 30 running back for fantasy leagues, Jacobs makes for a flex play option when the Giants play a weak team against the run like the Redskins. At the same time, Bradshaw is prone to a few injury throughout the season, and if he misses time, Jacobs would clearly be a starter.
In the end, you should look to Jacobs as early depth on draft day, as the veteran re-established his power in 2010, and figures to be a factor in 2011.

2011 June
Brandon Jacobs was a horrible fantasy bust in 2009 as he was clearly drafted as one of the top ten runners to be selected at many standard league drafts. As we moved closer to the 2010 season, it became clear that Ahmad Bradshaw was ready to unseat Jacobs as the starting tailback despite the big man publicly say that his knee felt much better.
While Bradshaw was the starting tailback last season but he struggled at times fumbling the football and Jacobs came along as the year progressed and averaged a 5.6 yards per carry on the season and even pounded out nine touchdowns.
As of now it’s hard to say what Jacobs value is because we don’t know if Bradshaw will be back with the team and if he is gone, who will come in to replace him. Come back to this section later in the summer and I will update you with a clearly idea of Jacobs value heading into the season, when this all clears up.
2010 Preview
Brandon Jacobs has officially lost his role in the Giants offense let alone the starting position. With a bad attitude and poor performance Jacobs is probably washed up as a fantasy relevant player until things change.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: If Matt Forte was the biggest disappointment in 2009, Brandon Jacobs had to be No.2 in fantasy circles. Jacobs was thought to be a true top ten fantasy running back last season after he posted fifteen touchdowns the year before.

With an offense that had a strong offensive line and still at an age of 26, Jacobs looked to be in the prime of his career. For the season Jacobs was horrible as an early season knee problem limited his power. Jacobs went on to post only a 3.7 yard per carry average, 835 total rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Of all the stats that were disappointing it is the five touchdowns that is really troubling as he wasn’t even reliable enough on his team to plunge them in at the goal line.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Some fantasy analysts are basically giving Jacobs a pass for his performance last year but not me. The Giants still have the third hardest schedule to run against this year and Ahmad Bradshaw could continue to steal work from him if he is slow.
Jacobs is saying his knee feels much better than last offseason and that is good, but it’s a different story when you put the pads on and you need that knee to barrel over defenders.
With all that said, Jacobs could make a run for double digit touchdowns this season and may get close to 1,000 yards rushing. Just remember that he does tend to miss a game here and their so be prepared to use someone else when he goes out.
