Evan Royster
Evan Royster | Washington Redskins | RB
2011 Experience: Rookie
Fantasy Football Outlook: Evan Royster was a three year starter for Penn State and was the second running back selected by the Redskins after Roy Helu of Nebraska. While Royster may not have the ideal elusiveness to be a starting tailback for most teams he is playing for Mike Shanahan, and you never know what this old coach is going to do.
At this time Royster is expected to compete with Helu and Ryan Torain for the starting job and fantasy owners must consider this to be wide open no matter how much they love one runner over another. The simple fact of the matter is that Shanahan is crazy and after the way he handled Donovan McNabb last year, anyone is expendable in his mind.
At the end of the day, Shanahan knows what type of runners fit his running style well and Royster is one of those running backs. Maybe he’s not flashy but he can get the job done. Keep a close eye on Washington’s tail back situation during camp and in the preseason to see which runner(s) breakout for the top work to begin the season.
For early dynasty league drafts, Royster is nothing more than a later round selection because we have to believe that Torian and Helu have the upper hand for work.

While there is no guaranteeing which teams will be strong and which teams will be weak in a given season, its still good to have an idea of the opponents your players will face.
Once the 2011 – 2012 season has started, we will find out which teams are for real and which teams are going to fold up. Who would have thought the Bengals would go undefeated in their division and the Titans would start out losing their first six games in 2009?
Throughout the season, you can always come back to our site and use our schedules for each team and player for your reference. Alternatively, you can also print out or download the schedule as well.
