Fantasy Football Outlook: Frustration happens in life and while it won’t encourage fantasy owners to hear Pead say he was, “miserable” during his rookie season, it’s not like we can right him off as a bust yet. That said, the odds grew worse during the draft as the Rams selected Zack Stacy in the middle rounds to compete with Pead and fellow second year running back Daryl Richardson.
The starting job won’t be handed to any of the three, but until I can see Pead step his game up, we should look to him as just a change of pace option in this ground attack. Keep a close eye on the Rams backfield during training camp and be sure to check in to this page before you draft. It’s likely I will have an update or two by that time.
For now, Pead is worth considering in the late round and should have better chance to stick on fantasy rosters in PPR leagues than standard or touchdown heavy leagues.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projection
The Rams finally drafted a respectable backup for Steven Jackson. Look to Isaiah Pead as the possible replacement for Jackson in the future for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rams use him in a committee down the road.
Pead is an explosive athlete and even Greg Cosell weighed in on the young talent calling him, ” a dynamic player.”
We know Jackson has a history of healthy problems, and it’s likely we will see Pead get some time as a starter this year. In dynasty leagues, Pead is worth a second or third-round selection, and if he does get a chance to start, he could hold RB2 value.
