Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Jason Snelling had hopes of finding a new team and increasing his role on the field as a free agent, but this was the wrong year for a running back to land on the open market. Finding a very soft market, Snelling finally settled with re-upping in Atlanta as Michael Turner’s backup.
Snelling will hurt Turner’s value as he’s proven to be a useful option to give Turner rest when the big cat is a little dinged up or needs extra rest. Bringing Snelling back was a solid move for the Falcons, but in terms of fantasy football it was a let down, for both Snelling and Turner.

2010 Preview
Jason Snelling filled in nicely when Michael Turner went down with a high ankle sprain. Look for Snelling as a cheap hand cuff to Turner this season as he would become a valuable fantasy option should Turner fall to injury again.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Jason Snelling was a virtual unknown coming into the 2009 NFL season. Michael Turner was entrenched as the feature back and Jerious Norwood was his backup. Because of health issues to both runners listed above Snelling, received multiple opportunities to start in the second half of the season.
For the year Snelling totaled over 650 yards rushing and also posted 30 receptions for 259 yards through the air. In the final game of the season Snelling showed his improvement as he posted 147 yards on the ground on 25 carries against the Buccaneers.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Look to Snelling as Turner’s hand cuff to have this season as Norwood has proven to have continued health issues. If Turner should go down at any point it will be Sneelling that gets the bulk of the work on the ground.
In Snelling, you know he can score and carry the football twenty plus times in a game. We watched this running back do just that when Turner was down a year ago. If you select Turner this season it would be a good idea to stash Snelling as a backup late in the draft. It’s bad enough if your stud goes down but even worse watching his backup succeed another owners roster.
