Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

Rex Ryan seems to still believe in Joe McKnight but I’m going to need to see a great change in his preparation. While McKnight may help the Jets when called upon, I don’t see him as a viable fantasy option anytime soon. Look to Shonn Greene, LaDainian Tomlinson and even rookie Bilal Powell as better runners to go after for fantasy than McKnight.

2010 Preview

Joe McKnight was drafted in the later round by the New York Jets. With this selection the Jets traded off Leon Washington to the Seahawks as McKnight will be the No.3 running on the team. Expect McKnight to be used in special teams as he’s struggled big time this offseason.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

College / 2010 NFL Draft: Joe McKnight picked up more work in USC’s offense after fellow running back Stafon Johnson had a life treating accident in the weight room. The injury ended Johnson season and McKnight had himself a productive year with the Trojans. On draft day McKnight had to wait awhile for his name to be called but eventually the Jets picked him up.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson on the depth chart McKnight is nothing more than the Jets No.3 running back. This season they are talking about using him in special teams and in the slot as a receiver.

For the year McKnight should be make a couple plays for his team but will be a quite name on the waiver wire for fantasy, unless some injury befalls players in front of him. In the future McKnight should take over Tomlinson’s job in the Jets’ offense.
