Joseph Addai |
2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: After the Colts signed Peyton Manning the veteran quarterback lobbied for the team to re-sign veteran running back Joseph Addai. With Addai back on the team, my hopes for rookie Delone Carter to win the starting job were crushed, but I still believe the youngster will make an impact in fantasy leagues.
Addai is likely to be a top 25 running back on our draft boards this summer, but his health history makes him a dicey option as a No.3 running back. I would look to him as a flex play option, but make sure you get Carter for depth because if and when this kid gets a chance to start (because of injury) he should be a worthy flex play in his own right.

2011 June
Joseph Addai is going to be a free agent when the lockout ends and with the Colts’ addition of Delone Carter, it is likely that Addai will be moving onto another squad. Often injured, Addai is going to have a hard time find a starting job in the open market and will probably be a late round selection in redraft fantasy leagues this summer, at best.
2010 Preview
Joseph Addai was probably the biggest fantasy bust in the 2008 season but bounced back in 2009. While he didn’t post big fantasy numbers, he did provide consistent production and a high number of touchdowns.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Just look at Joseph Addai as a young player that proved he could be fantasy worth after being the bust of the year in 2008. In ’08, Addai was a mid round pick in the first round of many fantasy leagues and had himself a horrible season.
However, there he was in 2009, a touchdown machine as he posted thirteen total touchdowns and even tossed one into Reggie Wayne. For the season Addai was much more productive than the year before, but he did still failed to reach 900 yards rushing.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Addai is probably in his final year with the Colts as he will be a free agent next season. For a player that has a career yard per carry average lower than 4.0 this isn’t the guy you want to give a big contract to.
The Colts already have last years first round pick Donald Brown ready behind Addai, and I would expect him to see more touches in the offense. However, Addai is the bigger running back and has proven to get the job done in the red zone.
Look for Addai to be the starting running back and handle the goal line opportunities as they come along. While Addai is still a solid bet for forty plus receptions, he won’t reach 1,000 yards rushing this season once again.
Addai makes for a very nice flex play option, this season and a lower end No.2 running back.
